Chance a Georgia Peach for STANFORD and other top schools. I CHANCE BACK

I’d say in at all of the non-Ivies, plus a good chance at all of the Ivies (you never know with those).

You’ll have a great app good luck!

Stanford: reach
Princeton: reach
Penn: low reach
Cornell: low reach
Duke: match
Dartmouth: reach
Harvard: reach
Yale: reach
UVA: match
Northwestern: match
Vanderbilt: match
Rice: most likely
U Michigan: really good chance
GA Tech: really good chance

I’m a fellow southern gal looking at engineering too!

You have great test scores/stats, but there is a lack of passion/focus in your extra curriculars. If you have a great essay, or manage to otherwise address this it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. You’re a great candidate. Being a female engineer should help at all non-ivies, but the Ivies + Stanford are trickier.

IMO
Stanford, Princeton, Harvard, Yale- reach (applying SCEA to Stanford should help tho!)
Penn, Cornell, Duke, Dartmouth-low reach

UVA, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Rice, U Michigan, GA Tech - would be pretty surprised if you didnt get into at least 5 of these 6

chance me back?

bump! 10char

Overall, your resume is impressive. I was just wondering what your SAT I score is since it is likely you will need SAT I in addition to ACT (especially when it comes to Ivy league colleges). Not to sound like a downer, despite all of your impressive qualifications, HYPD (the Ivies) are always a reach for everyone (a student at my school with 36 ACT 2340 SAT was rejected from all Ivies except Cornell) so it is hard to tell, but with regards to your other schools listed, your pretty much stand a very good chance. Best of luck!!!

The first replier told you that Princeton was a match…Do not believe that fodder. HYPSM are nobody’s matches. With that said, you have a high probability at being accepted by a a few top schools. You’ve bought your lottery ticket through your qualifications; now all you can do is wait.

princeton is not a match nor is it a low reach… for anyone!!! my friend had perfect everything, 3 gen legacy, friends with dean of admin… didnt get in.

alpha12- no school requires both SAT and ACT–check their websites. I just took the SAT subject tests because I was prepared after my AP’s, but most schools (yes, even Ivy’s) don’t require subject tests for those who turn in the ACT with writing.

Okay, now THAT’S a little stunning. Did your friend do something to worsen his/her app that you’re not telling us? Having a 2400 SAT alone puts chances at around 40%…Other perfect stuff (grades, SAT2s) has gotta make that go up even more, to say, 60%. THREE GEN legacy AND connections with the DEAN…And didn’t get in. I honestly don’t buy it; there’s gotta be something missing from the picture.

Well all we know about the kid is that he had good standardized test scores. There are a million other things that Princeton looks at, which maybe this kid was lacking. I’m sure he was smart, but no one gets a perfect score on both tests without studying a very long time. We still don’t know his grades, EC’s, recommendations, essays, which may not have been all that great.

perfect was a bit of an exaggeration but basically he was your typical CC overachiever…
i know he never got a B and his weighted was around 4.9 and that he got a 2370. he was also prez of his class (2 yrs ago) and won comps for various things across the board. also played basketball, all division. got into harvard so who cares haha
in summary, they must have secretly hated him and his family

Stanford: Reach
Princeton: Reach
Penn: Low Reach
Cornell: Low Reach
Duke: Low Reach
Dartmouth: Low Reach
Harvard: Reach
Yale: Reach
UVA: Safety
Northwestern: Match
Vanderbilt: Low Match
Rice: Low Match
U Michigan: Safety
GA Tech: Safety

Excellent stats and overall transcript, congrats! =]

Perfect everything implies that his academics as a whole (grades + test scores) are up to par. When you have a significant hook as legacy (okay, not usually considered a hook but this is 3 GENERATIONS here) and you’re in the dean’s favor, I don’t care if your ECs are sleeping and video games; you’re going to be accepted. I mean this is basically a candidate with higher chances than a perfect-score URM here.

looking good! Make sure your essays are good and you will have many positive results I think.

Yeah, that would pretty much be the only explanation; Princeton deliberately didn’t want to be connected to this family anymore for whatever reasons.

Oh and sorry for veering so far off-topic. :)

well the story sounds pretty suspicious to me…
but no worries! :)

Stanford: LowReach
Princeton: LowReach
Penn:Low Reach, possibly Match
Cornell: Match
Duke: Match
Dartmouth: Match
Harvard: Reach
Yale: Reach
UVA: Match
Northwestern: Match
Vanderbilt: Match
Rice: Match
U Michigan: Easy Match
GA Tech: Easy Match

Thanks for chancing me btw, and awesome ACT score!

I know HYPS are reaches for everyone, but Stanford really is my dream school. Is there anything I could do to make it a match (SCEA)?

Reach: Harvard, Yale
Low Reach:Princeton, Stanford
High Match: Cornell, Penn, Dartmouth
In:GA Tech, U Mich, Vanderbilt
Match: the rest
