I wrote an awesome essay about reconciling my latin-american identity with my modern feminist one even though latin-american culture is intensely sexist. I also have a ton of EC’s which include political activism and mock trial related activities. the more important ones include:
-Editor of school yearbook
-Mock trial head coach for my region’s chapter of the National Hispanic Institute for 3 years (I have a few NHI awards under my belt too).
-Food Not Bombs worker over the summer
-Secretary of Spanish Honor Society

Others include:
-Environmental Society
-Student Advisory Committee
-KEDT Challenge! Team (televised student game show that I had to try out for)
-Hispanic Heritage Committee (officer)
-Quill and Scroll (officer)
-National Honor Society

I’ve had some of my art published in school publications and photographs hanging in our front office (that probably doesn’t count for anything…just throwing that out there). I also have about 500 hours of community service.

I’m a Hispanic girl living in south Texas, fluent in Spanish (obviously), and a first-generation American. Chance me!
