and if you know any good LACs' that arent big on Ecs' by all means please list them in this thread!

I don't know a lot about the schools on your list, but I'm sure you're in at all of them.

And uh, I know it's a crapshoot and all, but with good essays, you'll most likely get in ANYWHERE you apply.

I don't see what's "weak" about frequent community service while maintaining a job and hobbies! (I do, however, see how you'd consider it weak after hanging out on CC too much. xD)

lol hopefully i get that kind of news when I apply haha but I guess used "weak" because only started getting involved a few weeks ago with comm. service and volunteering I dont want them to KNOW I've been a EC nazi for the past 2 1/2 years haha and i'm new to CC and everything but some of the usual stats i see on here are like out of this world !

I think you have a rather strong chance at all of them.

Are you planning on continuing with horseback riding in college? If so, have you checked whether or not you can at all of your prospective colleges?

And another to possibly add onto the list: Oberlin, especially with your interest in music.

It is unusual to be fluent in English, Arabic and Chinese (Mandarin dialect?). Have you been tested in these languages? Forgive my doubting question, but if you are gifted enough to be fluent in 5 languages, including the two most difficult, you are certainly intelligent enough to know your chances at these schools.

yes Mandarin but I'm trying to learn Cantonese too ... well besides alot of mostly "cultured" friends and I'll admit I spent alot of time and $$ on books it wasnt easy actually it was pretty geeky and Spanish I had to learn anyway
I think I'm just looking for opinions cause my ECs' suck.

a urm that can speak five languages and has crazy good test scores is a virtual lock at the schools youre applying to

one question: you say "junior year now," and you also mention youre a national ap scholar. so do you mean to say that you've taken 8 APs and scored 4s or 5s on all of them as a freshman and sophomore?

if so, how many aps are you planning on graduating with? + imo you have a shot anywhere

I actually finished my sophomore year early and had nothing to do so I took 8 last year.
so basically all my EC time went to studying haha
I wanna do at least 5 more.

You should be fine with Vassar. I've had three good friends get in in the past three years and you easily surpass them in testing on APs and SATs. Although you may feel your ECs are weak, I think they are certainly strong enough! I agree with scared6378, you can shoot higher. But a first choice is a first choice!
