thanks thanks.
how important is teacher reccomendations?

Premed is premed anywhere you go, its the same set of classes everywhere. You can major in anything you want as long as you fulfill the premed requirements (2xgen chem, 2xorganic, 2x biology, 2x physics and some sort of math requirement depending on the individual med school). Most people are biology or chemistry majors because the requirements are part of the major.

As for stats, raise your SAT/ACT then a decent chance.

I don’t think your future should be your hook. Yes, the Peace Corps and Doctors Without Borders are amazing goals, but many other people are going to want to do the exact same things. What is it about you that makes you qualified to enter university and then go on to join such prestigious organizations?
I also graduated with hundreds of community service hours; I used two experiences from my time volunteering to present my case. With 275, you should have similar times-just some things that you remember very clearly.
If you raise your test scores and perhaps get more leadership in your clubs (not even sure if that is necessary), I think you should be fine. Make sure that your involvement list doesn’t look so much like a laundry list-really focus in on the clubs that you enjoy.
When I went to orientation, as a Biochem major, I think almost all of Biochem was pre-med. Same for Biology and Chemistry. It’s just more convenient to fulfill your major requirements and medical school requirements at the same time, killing two birds with one stone.
Anyway, good luck! :)
