Thanks, guys! Will chance back, too.

Your stats are strong but Yale is an extremely competitive school so your GPA and ACT may hurt you (esp since your GPA trend is decreasing). Your ECs are “okay”. Yale is a reach but you never know with the Ivies. Be sure to apply to some safeties though

Your ACT is right in the middle. Your gpa is below the average accepted. Your EC’s aren’t spectacular; EC’s and Awards should go hand-in-hand.

Yale will be a tough reach, but don’t get discouraged. There are plenty of schools out there that would gladly take you. Also, the essay brings in another wildcard in this process.

Chance me back if you have time! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/839847-harvard-stanford-penn-impossible.html

School rank and downward trending GPA are going to hurt your chances, I’d say Yale is a pretty high reach.

I agree with the others. It would definitely be a high reach. I’ve seen people with 4.0 GPAs, almost perfect SATs, and better ECs that were deferred EA (myself included)

Yale is a high reach, thousands of Valedictorians try and don’t make it. It’s one of the most competitive schools in the country, so I would have backups.
Best of luck, you never know. (:

Keep in mind that Yale’s acceptance rate for regular decision is dismal (only about 6%). With 6/100 being accepted, there is no room for holes in the application. “Okay” essays are what begin to hurt. Every grade and ACT point matters. That being said, a girl from my school (36 ACT, spent summer at MIT) got deferred in EA. It’s a crapshoot, but I would keep your backups lined up. I would say it’s a high reach.
