Thanks so much in advance!

get your predicted SAT score, keep your grades up, apply early and you should be in ;)

You should be in so long as you apply early. UM admissions are pretty unpredicatable though. An in-state friend of mine got the bad deferral and she had stats similar to yours.

what exactly is the "bad deferral"?

hmm, and it occurred to me that UM is supposedly stopping rolling admissions. does that mean that when one applies no longer matters? that could make it more competitive.

Don't worry about your SAT too much.

Make sure that you get your application in extremely early (like before october).

That is, if they keep the rolling system next year.

Yeah guys, I'm really scared that they'll take away rolling next year. Just my luck, that the year I apply they take away rolling. I was planning on applying in Sept. If they keep rolling intact. If not, should I still be okay?

i applied december this year haha...got into purdue, illinois and others with good money but i want michigan. i would apply early as i still havent heard from them

it's difficult to predict without rolling admissions... I just know that it's not terribly difficult to get into UM with decent stats if you apply right away, and nearly impossible if you wait until the last minute... so average those? :S

your stats are good; I'd say you still have a good shot.

Here's how the difficulty goes:

September-October: A little above Michigan State level difficulty
November: What you'd expect Umich to be
December: Nearing UChicago difficulty
January: Getting harder...
February: Duke/Cornell difficulty :)

Yeah it gets way harder as it gets late in the season.
