Please be honest with me. I’m taking the most rigorous course load at my school, but that being said, not many kids at my school get into ivies/T20s (maybe one every five years or so) so I’m not expecting to make it into these schools. Also, I have taken a very rigorous course load (I think my GC will note this in his rec, I don’t think any kid from my school has taken this hard course load, even valedictorians of past years).
UW GPA: not officially calculated by school, but about 3.89-3.91/4.0 (top 5-10%)
ACT: 36 (no essay)
AP EXAMS: All fives so far; overall about 10-11 AP’s by end of high school.
EC’S: very involved in band (my school has five, I’m in all of them) and music program all four years; I produce local artists’ music at no cost and I have composed/produced/released my own music in an obscure genre for the past five years; involved in selective state-wide bands junior (and hopefully senior) year; varsity sport for 3 years; leadership role in a math club which I started (goes to regional competitions and does other school wide things → this is a big deal at my school)
Other things: I am openly lesbian/secular at a VERY catholic school in a VERY conservative area, which is something I might try to accentuate in my application however I’m not sure if that’s the best route to go down since they probably hear about that all the time!
I’ve gone into depth with both band and math, and I’m hoping these will be my selling points in all honesty. I’m considering Cornell ED since I loved the campus when visiting and I would hands-down attend if accepted.
