Hi everyone! Sorry to post again, but I just realized Emory was not on my list. Do you guys think that Emory is reasonable for me? They have one of the top undergrad Business and top undergrad Creative Writing programs in the country, so it’s a school I’m seriously considering. Thanks!

(So my list would be, after a little bit of other editing)
Emory
Amherst
Brown (top choice)
Georgetown
Northwestern
UChicago
Johns Hopkins
Wash U
Columbia (shameless dream school)
Stanford (shameless dream school)
Tufts
UVA (OOS)
NYU

Wow! Those are some great ECs! Also, don’t most colleges leave out Freshman year from your GPA? Your GPA would be pretty darn good then.

One question, though: What’s with those A-'s in music electives freshman and sophomore year? What did you do to not get an A?

I think:

Emory- you should probably be in
Amherst- maybe
Brown- probably not
Georgetown- probably
Northwestern- maybe
UChicago- Probably not
JHU- maybe
WUSTL- probably
Columbia- no
Stanford- no
Tufts- maybe
UVA- probably
NYU- yes

Chance me back?

^I’m not sure if I left that link right or not.

Chances

Amherst - maybe
Brown (top choice) -maybe
Georgetown - good
Northwestern - maybe
UChicago -maybe
Johns Hopkins -maybe
Columbia (shameless dream school) -poor
Stanford (shameless dream school) - poor
Yale (shameless dream school) -poor

Your portfolio is so good, except freshman year is a major blight. 3.7 GPA means you need to compensate with very good essays to get in to some of these schools.

However, you seem better than many other applicants to these schools. Best of luck.

i think you have a great shot at all of them, and a good chance even at your shameless dream ones. just up the sat a bit good luck

This ‘heyimpeter’ guy got into UPenn ED.
