Okay Essays and recs

Chance me for UM at College Park and UM at Baltimore County!!!

Forgot to mention that I will apply to the Robert H. Smith School of Business (Business Major). My hopes of going into Engineering were crushed long ago (and I lost interest!), which is why I’m applying to the Smith School. So chance for me for Smith School acceptance too!

Is the gpa w or uw?

You are in without a doubt, the only question is if the gpa is w or uw. UW I would think you can get into Smith, w no.

My stated GPA is uw. My weighted is GPA around 4.3.

A lot my classmates are applying to smith with similar stats. Also, I always thought Smith was a highly comp. school. So I kind of doubt your assessment (but thanks for the positive message!). Though I do know that if I don’t get into Smith but into the University, I’ll be assigned to Letters + Sciences (right?).

The SAT might be a bit low for Smith. What is the CR/Math breakdown?

The average SAT score for the Smith School is 1360 according to Business Week rankings.

Yeah, I got a SAT M score of ~600 and a SAT CR of ~640.
Also, I am not in any Advanced Math Class. I am currently taking Math 4 (which is Pre-Calculus).

So in light of these new details, what do you all think about my chances to go to the Smith School?

What are my chances to UM at College Park? I do know that if I don’t get into the Smith School, I’ll be placed into the L&S major.

You’re in state so you’ll get in - but probably not into Smith. Get good grades freshman year and apply to Smith later on.

I agree that you are in, but not Smith, due to the weakness in Math in your hs curriculum an your SAT. Business degrees require math, not as strong as engineering, but you will still be required for classes like Stats, Accounting and Econ which are math driven.
