<p>if you mean american indian then it is a huge advantage, however, if you are asian-indian (if that makes sense) it is still an advantage, but lesser so. I think you have a good to great chance, as long as you keep your grades as high as they are. :)</p>
<p>From what I’ve gathered, and I certainly could be wrong, being of Indian, or of any Asian descent for that matter, serves more as a disadvantage than an advantage when it comes to private universities. </p>
<p>And I don’t mean to play the race card, just statistics and the regurgitation of (potentially) incorrect posts that I’ve read up on at CC. </p>

<p>you have a really good shot at almost all of the schools on your list. I would say the ivies will be a bit challenging for you to get into but your stats are extremely impressive! Cornell is a definite possibility if you show them sincere interest. The Sunys and rochester should be no problem at all for you to get into. Just curious do you go to SI tech, Brooklyn tech or Stuy? I can tell you are probably in one of the specialized high schools.</p>
<p>Um I actually go to competitive HS in upstate NY near Rochester. It ranks like 69 on US News Best High Schools.</p>
<p>Your SAT scores are really high and your ECs are great. The only thing that might hinder you is being from New York, since there tends to be a high volume of applicants from that region. But I am in the same boat. :)</p>
<p>Your stats are really impressive, and as long as you keep the difficulty of your classes up for your senior year and write some memorable essays, I think you’ll be fine. Just remember how picky all these top-tier schools are when waiting for their responses and don’t get discouraged if one turns you down…you never know exactly what they’ll be looking for that particular year.</p>

<p>Thanks collegejj23, no I’m not international I’m a NY resident. I just stated that I was Indian because I know this could hurt my chances due to tough demographic competition.</p>

<p>I suppose the the colleges beyond EA are those you will submit if you were denied for ED / EA. </p>
<p>I don’t remember if you are allowed to do both EA and ED simultaneously. Make sure you check with your advisor.</p>
<p>If you do get denied, I am sorry.But the list is too long. Recc and essays will kill you (the fee is very high-.-)</p>
<p>Your SATs are very very good. I wouldn’t even bother to take ACT if I were you. The lowest one is CR 710, which can be improved.

<p>jwxie thanks for the advice…and I’ve checked about the EA/ED thing, which is allowed since UChicago is non restrictive EA, and Penn ED says you can’t enter any binding contracts; so in other words I’m fine with that. Yeah I know my list is long but I’ve already started writing essays, and I’d have a tough time shortening the list…any suggestions on what to take off?
I’m just worried that if I don’t get into a top school, or my mid range schools, and I’d be stuck in a SUNY/UofR. </p>
<p>When you say CR 710 can be improved…are you suggesting I retake the SAT, because I’ve already done it twice, and I think three times would look bad?</p>
<p>I think any SUNY school would be a definet safety school. HYP schools, you never really know with them. And it wont look bad if you take the SAT a third time as long as your score improves.</p>
<p>About taking the SAT 3x I’ve heard that once you’re above a 2250 taking it again looks bad, because it makes it seem like you’re too focused on testing. I know my CR score is low, and I think I can definitely improve it, but should I take it a 3rd time, or just do ACT?</p>
<p>Getting into ivies are difficult for everyone but if u apply ED to wharton you should be fine. Although they are accepting les people this upcoming year.</p>
