I’d say most likely acceptance at UChicago…Ivies are quite unpredictable.

Nice leadership and EC’s. I would like to say you have a good shot at UPenn, and I believe you have a chance, but you really never know with the Ivies. You should get into all the SUNY’s, WU, Rochester, and NYU. I really can’t say for the rest. I would guess that you will get into at least one of those reach schools, probably either Cornell or UChicago. Good luck.

It’s either SUNY (safties) or Chicago (with your good writing abilities, you can be a fit there). Try applying to NYU or Rochester though. Or maybe Georgetown?

OP, I suggest you stay away from What are my chances forum and just enjoy your last school year. Posting your stats and hearing divided opinions from CCers will only make you more nervous. Ivy League admissions are unpredictable anyway.

In at all the SUNY’S, Rochester and NYU. Ivy’s are always a reach but you look just as qualified as everybody, good luck.

Yah I didn’t think of NYU and Rochester. Oops

Do you actually like UofR and the SUNY schools that you’re using as safeties? If not, you should find some safeties that you do like because most of your schools are reach and you don’t want to end up at UofR if you don’t even like it! haha Good luck :]

And also, consider CUNY colleges if you’re living in the NYC metropolitan area… Do you live there?

Nope I live in upstate NY. And I wouldn’t be upset if I had to go to U of R or a SUNY, in response to elbeen, I’m just hoping that I can get into one of the ivys/top schools on my list :)

Then go ahead and try NYU, Columbia and so on. :)

Does being an unhooked applicant and not having a super high SAT scores really hurt my chances at top elite schools? I’ve heard that unhooked applicants should have like 750+ in each section which (cuz I messed up CR) I don’t. Is this really something worth worrying/retaking a test over, or should I just focus on my essays to boost my chances at ivys and other elites?

bump just for an answer to my last question…then I’m done with this thread :)

The higher the score, the better your chances. It’s as simple as that. If you’re unhooked and aiming at HYPS, anything below a 2250 is seriously uncompetitive.
Basically, unless you’ve already taken the SAT three times or more, go for it, imo.
