It would great you guys could give me chances for my ED schools and/or tell me which SAT to take next week. Please give me a link so I can chance back.

You should not send your first SAT score and definitely shoot for a higher score! I’m not saying you did poorly, it’s just if you want to be more certain you should try for 750+ for each section (especially for Columbia).

Cornell doesn’t consider writing so you’d have a 1410! I’d say that that’s about a small reach considering your class rank.

For the others I’d say medium/high reach, but this is because I’m not sure how your EC’s look.
If you had great EC’s I’d say light/medium reach.

Chance me back! [Chance me for Cornell ED! You know you want to. - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=1022386&referrerid=421954)

Good luck!

Sadly Columbia and UPenn require all scores so I’ll have to send the 1980 in.

So is Columbia a high reach due to my scores? Would the 750 Math II and the 690 Physics be enough for Columbia if I decide to switch to the SAT reasoning again next week?

bump. anyone?

bump…

bump. My ED school is UPenn and I would appreciate any chances. My subject test scores will probably be an 800 Math II and a 700ish Physics.

Lack of dedication to a single activity…

Only stating what you were or who you were is not going to help. Establishing the organisation is not a big deal until & unless you show what you did.

You should show how it changed you, impacted your school or the society in whole.

Columbia and UPenn mid-reaches
Cornell low reach

Low SAT and SAT2’s hurt, as well as class rank (im guessing NHS?)
4 on AP Physics is odd
No real awards, okay ec’s

Which UPenn school did you apply to? Wharton/CAS/?

Lemme guess… Is it Wharton?

@dame0n you are definitely close but I’m not going to say it here.
@harisheena ha my EC’s probably suggest Wharton but I applied to SEAS. This probably makes things a lot different.

thanks for the advice and I’m probably going to send in a resume that will describe my activities in more detail. I moved so I had to start new activities in the 11th grade. Also my class rank was affected by my transcript from India (classes weren’t weighted as honors/AP), but I still have a 4.0 UW with a pretty rigorous schedule.

As a side note, people who read my supplement said it was extremely good, it’s all about computer science. I would say my commonapp essay is average.

i agree with harisheena, you dont have any amazing activity. one that stands out to me is your -(11) Washington Business Week (Summer Program), which is slightly impressive. apart from this, your SAT scores and stats seem sub-optimal.

Columbia - high reach
UPenn - high reach
Cornell - match

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/1028134-chance-northwestern.html</a>
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/1028136-chance-berk.html</a></p>

I agree that you do have very little that stands out, subsequently making UPenn a pretty high reach. However, applying ED could be a huge help. Good luck.

Chance me: One more time? I PROMISE I’ll chance you back!

Do you guys seriously not think that my ECs aren’t impressive or is it because I’ve only done them for two years? I changed country junior year so I obviously can’t have continuity in my ECs.

And I’m applying to SEAS not Wharton.

in that case, you should focus on ec’s that relate to seas: student rnd, robotics, math
and not your business ec’s
business weeks not that impressive imo

Yeah i tried focusing on the computer science aspects of my finance activities and I thought it turned out alright. They are mainly there to show that I have leadership and I have multiple interests. Is it really necessary to have ECs related to your major?

Ur EC’s seem to be just a touch above average while ur scores are just enough…
Id say all three schools are reaches as they are for people with amazing stats tooo…

Chance back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1023853-help-me-out-pleaseeeeee-ill-chance-back-anyone-who-chances-me.html</a></p>

Thanks. anyone else? and again I’m applying to UPenn SEAS ED

bump. chance me for UPenn SEAS (Engineering) ED please. my updated subject test scores are 800 Math II & 690 Physics

I feel like the biggest things that would hold you back are your SAT scores… for ED, which the deadline already passed, I would have taken them again more time to shoot a big higher. Most kids from my school who are applying to UPenn have 2200+s… Ivies also don’t look too much at writing. But you just got an 800 on the Math II… so that will probably help out a lot.

Your community service and your residency in India are definitely interesting though, so those might help you out.

I think you have a relatively good chance for UPenn (EDs get back on the tenth, so good luck if you did that!), but Columbia will be more of a reach for you.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1046429-chance-me-please.html</a></p>

big reach for the reasons stated by others.
