SAT I (breakdown): 2250 (CR 710, M 760, W 780)
SAT II: Math II (800), Biology M (740) , History (720, crammed 200 years of history in 2 nights before the test lol)
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.88 (Went down a bit from 3.91 due to a B in the highest level Spanish class offered in my school)
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 7/349
AP (junior year): AP U.S. History(5), AP Calculus AB (5), AP Biology (4, only 5% got 5s -__-)
Senior Year Course Load: AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, AP Language and Composition, AP Computer Science, AP Macroeconomics, AP Calculus BC
Awards: FBLA 3rd in regionals, 4th in states in spreadsheet applications, would've went to nationals but school didn't let me :/, Several Quizbowl Competition Trophies</p>

<p>Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Science National Honor Society (Founder + Prez), Academic Team, Math Team, Key Club, Student Council, Debate Team (Started up this year and gonna be vp), Stand Up, Peer Tutoring, Varsity Cross Country for 2 years
Volunteer/Community service: At Local library, and at local hospital for a total of about 150 hours. And with other scattered events in various clubs for about another 100 hours. Canvassed and made phone calls for Cory Booker.
Job/Work Experience: Kumon (Tutoring kids in Alg 2 and Calc)
Teacher Recommendation: My calc and physics teachers. Both liked me and I did well in their classes.
Counselor Rec: meh, my counselor is leaving after this year so probably won't get one from her.
Interview: If college does provide one, I'll go.

Essay: Probably going to center around tragic events in my immediate family due to several types of cancer. It's also the reason why I want to major in something medical-related.</p>

<p>Okay thanks! Yeah, I’ve been trying to find a safety to fall in love with just incase. Rutgers seems to be my #1 safety. I will chance back!</p>

<p>You have a good chance at Cornell/Penn ED, a better one at Cornell in terms of acceptance rate, so do figure out which one you want to go to! Strong grades and pretty good ECs puts you at an above average chance at the top schools! Good luck with your essays.</p>

<p>Yup, and I absolutely love the cornell campus! It’s just tough deciding. MIT is my dream school but it’s such a crapshoot. Thanks for you help though.</p>

<p>Your stats are pretty good, though your GPA is a tad low. Your ECs are also pretty good, though there is nothing outstanding that will particularly stand out to some schools. I think your best chances would be at Cornell ED. Just make sure you write awesome essays, which should increase your chances at some of these schools.</p>

<p>Your stats would fit any of these schools! However, I don’t see anything on your list of ECs that would specify and really pinpoint your interest in medicine (other than Science National Honor Society and hospital work). You could have said that your major will be math or that you want to go pre-law or business, and your ECs would have matched nicely. Remember, you’re going up against students who’ve placed at USABO, or have done ground-breaking research and have been Intel Finalists. </p>

<p>That being said, your story might be the one to make your application really stand out. </p>

<p>As for which school you should do early on, you should ED at whatever school and program you want to go to the most, not the most highly-ranked one. There was someone at my school that turned down Columbia to attend UCSD’s BS/MD program. It even might work to your advantage, since you would be competing with your college classmates for a highly-ranked medical school or graduate school.</p>
