2.7 GPA UW
3.2 W

2000 SAT
30 ACT
Planning on taking Subject Tests come October and retaking ACT's to see if I can break 32+

I have impressive ec's and played tennis throughout high school.

Won 10+ awards with top 10 Model Un team and am currently an officer

Plenty of Extra Curriculars and Leadership positions throughout them.

I really got distracted throughout high school and by the time it mattered it was senior year.

Looking at straight A's first semester and first marking period both are sent by my school.

Help please I can't imagine my fate, I am high achieving and that comes out in my essays its just that I was not as serious as I should have been and I regret it immensely.

What program would you be applying for?

DGS or Undecided with the intent of either going into Computer Science, Economics or Business.

Why would you apply to DGS? Isn’t everyone automatically considered for DGS? You could apply to ENG and if you don’t get accepted there, you still have a chance for DGS.

Place DGS or LAS. Your GPA is going to hurt as they tend to look at that more so. My daughter had a horrible year and explained that in her essay. You will need to explain what happened since your ACT is not consistent with your GPA.

Since I already submitted my application should I send a letter or something to the admissions director. I really want to go to UIUC

You seem stressed. I would call the admissions, don’t give you name, and ask them what they think. I did this for my daughter with a huge mistake she made on her UIUC application. They were very nice and eventually she called and gave her name and they fixed it. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

I think you will surely get into at least DGS if not LAS with your stats. If you get solid grades (>3.8 GPA), you’ll be able to transfer into business. Another option would be to attend community college for a year or two and do the same thing - you’d save a lot of money though you might not get the full four-year university experience.

Thank you so much. Unfortunately community college is not an option. I hope to get into DGS and transfer at worst.
