Chance a possible Transfer?

Hey guys... I was wondering if you could possibly chance me on a transfer app?

College Freshman, B. Tech in Computer Science

Stats:
Grade 10, ICSE: 94.8%
Grade 12, Singapore-GCE A Levels: 7 A's
College GPA: 9.33/10

SAT
M 800; CR 800; W 660:(

School ECs: National Level Tennis (in Singapore)
Lots of Leadership (Organized an international science fair, deputy leader in the national day parade)
KVPY scholarship, 6th in NCO, INOI.
Singapore Physics (Honourable Mention), Chemistry (Silver) and Math (Honourable Mention) Olympiads.

College ECs: Not too much. Organized the first MUN in the city and play Tennis for the college. (Well, there isn't much to do here)

Research: Worked on a Clustering algorithm used for DNA analysis (Grade 11);
Worked on a face-recognition system for security cameras (Summer break after taking JEE).

Also, would anyone be willing to read my essays?

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

I like your SAT score wery much.

Nice stats man.
You do have good chances. Probably better than most applicants applying from India.

You’re from an IIT. That settles your Math/Science skills.
An athlete as well, that’s a very good hook.
And if what you say is true to an extent, then the research is awesome.

Applying as a transfer is the real killer. Are you asking for aid and are those the only colleges you’re applying to?
I would say the chances range from good to very good. Best of luck!

Why Dartmouth, BTW?

Hey mnkgsh,

I second what compscifan said, you do have pretty good stats. Your EC’s seem to be aligned with what you want to do. Overall, you have a solid standing in the objective part of the application, what will determine the final outcome will be the subjective part, i.e the essays.

One place where I can help you is the essay. So go ahead and PM it to me and I’ll see if I can help you out, oh and please include the respective essay prompts.

Cheers

You are from Singapore!
Hi-5! :D

@nitcomp: I don’t know what happened to my essay :frowning: Maybe I shouldn’t have criticized the US for invading Iraq :D

@compscifan
Well, Dmouth cuz it has a really interesting history wrt to CS. I mean they were the first place to have an open computer system for undergraduates. I am kinda hoping that they have retained the same attitude cuz I really need a LOT of computing time with the algorithms I’m working on. In fact its one of the main reasons for transferring. Also, I love their D-plan… I like traveling and getting to know ppl.

@mynameisv: Thanks for your offer. Will PM you as soon as I firm them up.

@swetha: I’m not FROM SG. I just went there for 2 years on a scholarship. Good times :D. Are you from SG?

Would any other kind soul be willing to help me out with essays? Please? With lots of sugar and cherries on top?

I am studying here in SG
Which JC did you Study in?

Is Dartmouth well known for computer science?

Oops, that has already been covered. :p

I think you have good chances, and I could read your essays.

:)

Just an update:
I just got accepted to Yale as an international transfer student. I also got rejected from MIT, Dartmouth, Harvard, and surprisingly, Cornell.
So, if you are a future transfer candidate, I hope this information is useful to you.

have you received any updates about the financial aid they are ready to offer
