recommendations: from Senator, from Professor at Cornell Summer College, Assistant Principal of Academics, Math Department Coordinator, person who directs the religious instruction program (the person I was helping passed away, and I had to take over the class, so I'm sure it's great), counselor (all were pretty dang good if I say so myself, however, sending in so many could hurt me...I know)

Common App Essay: proofread by a current Harvard undergrad senior - said it's good enough for any school (about being "frozen" in in vitro fertilization - I personally love it)

Hooks: first gen, in vitro, not sure about the last thing...

My schools are:
Princeton (deferred EA)
Harvard (Math major?)
Yale
Cornell (BEE at CALS)
Columbia
Brown
Dartmouth
Penn
Williams
JHU (BME first choice - don't want that anymore though...Applied Math second choice)
Swarthmore
Amherst
Wesleyan
Georgetown
Macaulay Honors -CUNY
SUNY Binghamton (accepted)
St. John's (full scholarship)

(please don't call me an ivy whore, my guidance counselor pretty much forced me to apply...loll) My top choices are Princeton, Cornell, and JHU

bump please! I’m quite nervous!

You Ivy-whore! Haha, I’m just kidding.
Princeton (deferred EA)- High reach
Harvard (Math major?)- High reach
Yale- High reach
Cornell (BEE at CALS)- Low reach
Columbia- Medium reach
Brown- Low reach
Dartmouth- Low/medium reach
Penn- High reach
Williams- Low reach
JHU (BME first choice - don’t want that anymore though…Applied Math second choice): BME is a high reach, Math- High match
Swarthmore- High match
Amherst- High match
Wesleyan- High match
Georgetown- High match
Macaulay Honors -CUNY- In

Your GPA is awesome (I’m assuming a 4.0/4.0 UW) and you’re a valedictorian. I actually was probably a little harsh with my chances. I’ll say you get in to at least two ivies (if I had to guess I would say Cornell because of the summer program and Brown or Columbia).
Chance me?

Thanks =D
I’d love to go to Cornell =D (I’m instate for CALS)
Oh…and I’m caucasian, I didn’t mention that

I also applied to UVa~

Bump! 10 char

Great shot at Cornell and Macaulay honors.

The others are just so hard to say. You could get into several or none. It is tough when you come from an uncompetitive high school. If you came from an uncompetitive state or we a URM it would help…good luck!

Thanks =D I absolutely love Cornell…unfortunately I’m almost the anti-hook (White male, NY - however, I am first generation)

The Ivy Leauges are so hard to tell. I’m sure you’ll get into 2 or 3 of the ivies though, and most of your other choices. Best of Luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1299467-chance-me-georgia-tech-ill-chance-back.html

Thanks =D I really hope so!

Sorry, I mistakingly assumed you were applying to a land grant school which as a New Yorkers means you could have had much lower than typical ivy stats. Good luck!

I am applying to a land grant school (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences)! =D

Are my stats competitive elsewhere though?

I think your CR score really hurts for ivies. With no stand out EC, they’ll be tough. But I can very much see Cornell for you.

I couldn’t agree more about the CR ~ however, starting from a 54(0) on the junior year PSAT, I’ll take it…
And yeah, I was kinda banking on my senator internship and teaching religious education to 5th graders as “stand out” because my school doesn’t really do things like science quiz bowl, math quiz bowl, etc, and I didn’t hear of AMC until it was too late…

/ does the 33 act reading counter the 670 at all? Because for some of these schools, I didn’t send the SAT (Brown, Princeton, JHU, Amherst, Swarthmore, Wesleyan, Williams, etc.)

That could help. There are so many soft factors…are you from a rural area? Low income? Are your parents professionals?

Was just accepted to Williams College (as an early write)!

Bump my chances =)

Bump per favore
