Hi cc-darlings. Please be honest if you feel my chances are futile. I certainly think they are, but unfortunately, I have a large support group that consistently disregards my pessimism.

School: Competitive, public, middle to upper middle class, suburban.

Average: 87% with a significant upward trend. I started with Bs and Cs in regular classes in my freshman year to four APs and a skipped year of a foreign language (Latin I to Latin III) in my senior year. In my Junior year, I had mostly As, with two Bs. This year, I have all As (with the exception of one unweighted C+ that's now an unweighted B+ in the class as of the second quarter.) I also have extenuating circumstances, as I only started to confront an apparent learning disability (not ADD/ADHD) in my junior year, which no longer impedes my ability to learn nor my intellectual capacity.

Tests: 29 ACT superscored, SAT IIs: 750 Lit, 700 US History, APs: 5s on US History and Lang.

Extracurrics': President of local Great Books chapter, editor in chief of school literary magazine, general editor/contributor to two other high school publications, social action vice president for a Jewish reform youth group (I orchestrate community service based programs, and have a lot of service credit as a result), classroom assistant in a teen ethics class/arts class at a local Jewish synagogue (former volunteer position, now paid), MUN delegate (with awards), founder of very small multinational online writing communities, member of a regional multi-state youth group, and a film club member. I've been in all of these clubs, with the exception of MUN, for three to four years. I also adore drawing, and will be submitting an art portfolio.

Awards: I received my school's Distinction in English award, first out of my 300 student class. I also received a third place medal in a school wide art show. I have some minor creative writing awards -sadly I didn't have the confidence to submit to national programs like Scholastic until this year. I also have several MUN awards.

Opportunities: I lobbied my essay on GLBT rights for a hundred teenagers and my state senator in Washington D.C, I attended Teenink's Young Writers Workshop (not too competitive, but a wonderful experience,) along with the Kenyon Review's Young Writers Workshop (one of the best, if not the best, writing programs in the country, selective.)

My recommendations will be written by my Latin teacher this year (who will detail my commitment to the language and skipping a year of it), the chair of the English department, my school counselor, and my employer.

My essays, I hope, are thoughtfully written and interesting :)

I realize this may be a lot of information to take in, but I appreciate any opinions given my somewhat unusual case. And I apologize if the way I describe some of my extracurriculars comes off as pompous. It's the only part of my application that I'm a little proud of, frankly.

Thanks again!
