Chance a rejected NU ED applicant? ):

Midyear reports may reflect top 10% as well if this semester pushes the OP over.

Also, don’t take ED rejections as a sign that you won’t get into similarly selective schools. It’s a natural reaction, but it often doesn’t work out that way. Almost everyone who applied ED (including me) in my graduating class to any school was deferred or rejected, yet most ended up being accepted to other top schools. It often gets to the point where they might as well be (or actually are) pulling names out of a hat (see NPR’s story on Amherst’s admissions process), so don’t take a rejection as a judgment of your chances elsewhere.

Glad you’ve decided to give it a shot – good luck!

@Antarius: I definitely will! I will find out whether or not I qualified for nationals (in debate) in January, and I plan on emailing Rice to let them know. There are two qualifiers, and as long as I don’t lose my spot in the January qualifier, I’ll qualify for nationals! Thanks for the well wishes!!

@RedSeven: That makes me feel better about my rejection, and post-rejection chances, aha! Thanks a lot. (:
