So, I'm posting this for the last time as a senior, since my stats are pretty much done. Applying from virginia, BUT, I have dual citizenship, as I was born in Montreal, Quebec.

Class Rank: Considering Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years: 1st. I do not know if McGill looks at 1st semester of senior year, but if they do, I'd be dropping down to 4th place out of a class of 488.

SAT- 1860 (600M, 630CR, 630W). I know, the score is terrible . I'm making one last stab at it in October. 28 on ACT, so it didn't help.

good recommendations

thats about it. My parents have been beating on my for my SAT, i've taken it twice, and i'm stuck at 1860. Same deal with ACT, a 28. I know I desperately need to break 2000, which I hope I will in october. Other than that, what do you guys think?

Recs and EC’s don’t matter. They only take grades/SAT/AP into account. You are at the verge. If you get in, it’ll be barely.

Before econograd gives you his usual “100% in guaranteed into the accept pile” mantra, I’ll give you an honest opinion.

Is the 3.97 out of 4.0? If it is, I’m not sure how you get a 5.1 W GPA.

I agree with adam0302. You have a chance but not more than 50/50.

60% IN!

Now about that 40%. Frankly, I think mcgill cares more about test scores than GPAs. It is very hard to compare people with different GPA across different schools but it is very easy to compare students with their test scores. So, do well on your test. I’d say go for the ACT because your SAT subscores are pretty consistent and ACT has a little more variation.

Then, send them a mail or fax them about all your extracurriculars, awards, community service and etc. Mention you are a Quebecois too. That never hurts.
