@rashi:- WOW! Thats unbelievable! 91.3% in 2 months??????????????? Heck! You must be a genius! Congrats! I hope this question is not too personal but how much did you score in Math? Because I really suck at Math and how much ever I study I cant cross 85!!!

@rashi: Well I'm in TN, and there's no softball here, so...

Do you guys mind porting this discussion to Class of 2012? We can do with more posts there.

Heh, well, I was the last person to post there...yesterday. Get something alive and kicking there!

your wish is my command.........

98 in Mathematics... :D

anyone living in mumbai

alam, what is your situation? We can try and help you out

well im in 11th in CBSE (commerce with entrepreneurship).want to strt wid the application stuff like SOP ,lor's etc...cuz im finding it difficult to find a good counselor.....can anyone send me their LOR'S and SOP'S so tht it becums easier for me draft mine....

Dude, SOP's are for grad school. For undergrad, all you need is your own school's help. Talk to your principal first.

you don't need any of those things- why do you want to waste money on a foreign education counselor- all you need to do is spend some time on the net searching about the universities you like and see what you need to do to fulfill there requirements.
Also you should prep for sat and give it again in june, because your first score is pretty low.

I am a CBSE 12th grader and have been recruited by one of the top 10 ranked American university's swim & dive team. You need to be REALLY exceptional of you want to be considered for the team. Applying for recruitment with the sole intention of getting a boost in admissions would be pretty naive. My swim times are exceptional and so are those of other recruited athletes.

You most probably would be refused by a Division I school as they close recruitments pretty early. I would suggest you to not apply to the coach unless you are hundred percent sure of representing the university in that sport. You need to be focussed on your sport from a long time and must be dedicated to it. DON'T waste your time applying if you aren't (at least) a Nationally level athlete, most coaches do not even respond if you don't match up to what they are looking for.

Wow dude...which school, if you don't mind my asking?

Sorry, I'd rather it be a secret :)

But yes, it's ranked in the USNews 2008 Top 10.

^ And why would you want to keep a secret ? skeptic look :D

"most coaches do not even respond if you don't match up to what they are looking for."....... True.. Out of 10 coaches I contacted.. only 4 have responded so far.. including harvard.. Yay!!

gouchicago--- you have been recruited by University of Chicago.. Right..???..
i wonder what was there to hide about... hmm..

Well yes, wasn't it obvious from my username?

Coaches are very particular about the people they recruit. Columbia Univs coach sent me this reply : "The recruiting season is over, but you do have some strong stats." That when I'm a strong candidate for recruitment. Division I schools rarely reply, they don't recruit after the recruiting season is over. If you haven't sent in your videos and the like by now, don't bother sending it, the recruiting season has ended a long time ago...

^still wondering.. why a secret..???.. ;)

Although if you are determined to play for your University (and you aren't doing it for a boost in your admission chances), I would advise you to go ahead. If you have some really strong credentials and you are a well qualified sportsman, a coach might just take you in.
