<p>Agreed..!! Grades..scores and Rank do play an important role..however, it is the essays which can get you in...or get you rejected....
That is one of the reasons I loved the process of applying to the US..I had never thought about myself and my life before...</p>
<p>For the first few days I was completely out of words/thoughts. Writing the essays seemed more difficult than studying for IIT. However, It turned out to be a wonderful experience and I learnt so much more about myself.
Your application is read by not just professors, or people on the admission committee but by students as well and they represent the true nature of the school. That is the reason why it is stressed that the essays should be very personal.</p>
