<p>I'm an international student in Thailand (Asian), and I'm thinking of Cornell Arts and Sciences as EA,
I'm not sure yet what I'll be majoring in, but certainly in the humanities and less towards the sciences.</p>
<p>So here are my stats, please give an opinion and advice :) Thanks in advance!</p>
<p>School
Type: Small private British school
Rank: Top 5% (does it really matter in a class of 20?)
GPA: 3.85+</p>
<p>Examinations</p>
<p>SAT: 2010 first sitting,
top in my school but horrible internationally, will definitely retake in October
CR: 670
W: 680
M: 660 (An Asian bad at math lol)</p>
<p>SAT 2: Taking them next week actually, Biology and Literature
Did great in practices but well, who doesn’t? :P</p>
<p>CIE IGCSE: 1 A*, 5 A, and 2 B
CIE As Level: Predicted A, A, A, and B, results to be released</p>
<p>Essay: Common App essay will be about my disconnection from my true Chinese heritage – good idea?</p>
<p>Extracurricular:</p>
<p>Theatre: Directing and script writing half a dozen school productions, 7 years</p>
<p>Student Council: Class representative for 3 years, then Secretary+Vice President, dual position</p>
<p>Military: 500+ hours of military training</p>
<p>Yearbook: Editor in Chief for 3 years</p>
<p>Prom Board: Financial director and host</p>
<p>Choir/Ensemble: Pianist and repertory adviser for 3 years</p>
<p>Assistant to GC: Student representative of GC, handle her paperwork, her mail, serve as contact person to charities and universities working with the school</p>
<p>Paid work: Teaches middle school math and English at a local summer school every summer for 3 years</p>
<p>Awards</p>
<p>Other than school awards, only finalist at a national essay and speech competition, and pianist of the winning ensemble at a regional chamber music competition.</p>
<p>Will probably ED at Cornell CAS, but also considering other Ivies (do I qualify?)</p>
<p>REALLY want to go to Yale but probably wouldn’t get in :(</p>
<p>Will need Financial Aid by the way :)</p>
