Chance a transfer on a leave of absence?

I’m looking to transfer into CAS next semester (spring '16) from a top 50 school in the south! Due to medical circumstances, I had to take the rest of this semester off from my school and now I’m hoping to go to NYU in order to be closer to home (I’m from NY). I explained all of this in detail on the common app.

College GPA: 3.4 (mostly As, 3 Bs, and 1 C - second semester freshman year wasn’t too great due to medical reasons) with 34 credits completed
High school GPA: 95.5/100 in mostly AP/honor classes
SAT: 700 W 720 R 560 M - not going to send however
ECs: tons of volunteer hours throughout high school & college, member of a national sorority that NYU also has, several part time jobs in HS and two internships over the summer
Essays: Pretty good (shows genuine interest in NYU and also explains my reasons for transferring pretty well)
Rec: Probably going to be decent (from a prof that I knew somewhat well in a class I received an A in)

Is there any shot of getting accepted for next semester? I’m worried my college GPA is a little low despite attending a university that’s comparable to NYU… also, will my medical leave of absence affect my chances? I explained that besides recovering and getting healthy again, I’m planning to do a lot of volunteering, learn some new skills, take online classes, etc.
