I'm applying to NYU Gallatin, Fordham, and maybe Columbia GS (BIG MAYBE)

I want Gallatin. Badly.

I'm a caucasian female, and I'm 20.
I'm supposed to be a junior this year, but I'm taking the year off.

I've applied to Tisch twice, and was rejected twice, so that worries me, but I'm a completely changed person now, and obviously going an alternative route by applying to Gallatin. I think I make it clear in my essays that I am NOT going just to take class at Tisch. I want to study academic subjects that truly interest me while pursuing an individualized major I CARE about...I don't just want to get a degree in psychology when I know that's not what I want to do with my life. PLUS my essays were like, retarded back then because I thought it was all based on the audition.

I'm on a very... different path than most, and I hope that makes me stand out at Gallatin. I went to CU Boulder my freshman Year, to a crappy school in NY my second year, and now I'm taking a year off of school (graduated HS in 06). I've been interning (3 great internships--NY Musical Theatre Festival, Off-Broadway show, and a talent agency), performing in shows (Off-Broadway & benefits),working(Broadway Merch), and taking classes since 8/08.

I've never been an amazing academic performer, but I am a good student, if that makes any sense...I like to learn. I'm a pretty good writer, so I think my essays are all fine.

My recs are from a writing teacher at my second college, and my advisor and history teacher in high school...and they both love me, so those should be awesome.

As for Columbia, my brother just graduated from there, so that's my legacy...worth applying to GS?

anyway... here are my boring stats:

HS type: very small, private, one of the best in San Francisco
HS GPA: 3.3 (all honors classes, or something, it was one of those "alternative" high schools...we didn't see our grades until senior year when we were applying to college)
SATS: Math 610 Reading 630 Writing 670
College 1 GPA: 3.5
College 2 GPA: 3.6

that's what it's all about! clap!
