Chance a transfer student..

Hi there.

I'm not really sure yet if I'm serious about changing schools, this is just a hypothetical situation at this point.

Right now I'm at the Universty of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It's no Ivy, but it's still a respected school. I'm a freshman this year majoring in Political Science. My gpa last semester was 3.7 (could've been better though, I made some dumb mistakes and ended up with a few A-'s that could have been solid A's.) I should finish out this year in the 3.7-3.8ish range.

EC's so far- an environmental club, pre-law club, sorority, and I've just started volunteering about 10 hours a week.

I work 10 hours a week starting this semester.

My high school performance was not great- 3.4 unweighted gpa, 3.8 weighted. Top 24%. A bunch of honors and a few AP's. My competitive, private school didn't offer a lot of AP's.

I would transfer after sophomore year because I didn't apply anywhere for next year (remember this is still just an idea)

Realistically, what are my chances at transfering to Georgetown? I know it's a reach and I think if I just see a blatant "NO" I will get the idea out of my head.

Thanks

bump......

pleeease? i just want an opinion..

Apparently they received over 1,500 transfer apps last year and accepted approx. 375. Your gpa is what their average gpa is but rank is a little lower. It looks like they look at a lot of other things also. If you really want to I would go ahead and try. If it doesn't work out, you are still at a very well respected school and will get an excellent education. Best of luck!

SATs/ACTs?

I didn't take the SAT- I'm in the midwest and knew I wouldn't need it to go to Illinois.

My ACT was 28

Im on the Dean's List here, if that helps.

Anyone????
