Chance a Very Anxious Applicant

So here it goes.
I’m in state student, ED.
I’m in the top 5% of my class
My SAT isn’t the best, 1190.
Weighted GPA of 4.51 Unweighted of 3.9.
Only have passed one AP exam all of high school (3 each year)- A 3 on English Lang and Comp. I’m taking AP Comp Sci, Seminar, and English Lit this year.
Some notable EC’s include
My prominence in Crosby Scholars (have done interviews with my local radio and newspaper, recruitment, etc)
Beta Club
Tennis Team, Varsity
All the other Ec’s are filler.
I have a very strong essay, which I’m willing to share with anybody who private messages me- I feel like it says a lot about myself.
If it means anything, I am of Middle Eastern decent (At this point I feel like affirmative action is the only thing on my side)
This is the kicker… applied for Engineering (Comp sci) with Exploratory as second choice. Not feeling too good about everything right now. Please be brutally honest.

If you look at Section C9 of the NCSU Common Data Set, your SAT score is around the 25th percentile of last year’s accepted students. There also seems to be a discrepancy between your GPA and your SAT score; depending on how other members of your high school who applied to NCSU performed, this could be a “red flag” to the admissions office signalling grade inflation (supported by your showing on the AP exams). The ECs that you have listed don’t show any leadership or commitment over time (although you may have simply omitted that information).

If you look at Section C7 of the CDS, you seem to be below average or have potential problems in several of the areas that NCSU considers to be “very important” in the admissions decision. Based on what you have provided above, I think that your chances of admission are low, especially considering the likely credentials of other students who will be applying to study engineering/computer science. I’m not saying you won’t be admitted, just that in my opinion you are a bit of a long shot. But only the admissions office knows for sure.
