Chance a young man at Ivies, Competitive Schools, and Scholarships

Hey everyone! First time poster and its good to see you all. I love this community!

So, here is the stuff:

I go to an exceptionally rigorous state-chartered math/science academy (Think of NCSSM, IMSA, SCGSSM, etc.). My GPA (with the inclusion of my freshman year grades at a regular high school) is somewhere in the 3.6-3.7 range.

Asian, suburban city that is pretty rich

ACT: 34. AP Bio 5 AP Chem 4 AP eng. 5 ap scholar

Recs are good. One of them is from someone who went to Harvard.

Extracurriculars:

*Student Council President
*President of a National Student Organization (related to student government)
*Speech Team President and State Qualifier
*Facilitator of a Leadership Education program
*National Honor Society
*Mu Alpha Theta
*Model United Nations

I have done summer research in biology at a private university and my research has been published in a scientific journal. I have also done research in educational policy and started a tutoring service for my city at the local library.

I think the advantage of my EC's is that they have a bit of a focus on politics and policy - speech team, student council, etc. I think this gives me focus not only extracurricularly, but also in terms of making my application really unified (as my essays will talk about my eventual desire to go into these fields as well).

Chance me, please!
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
upenn
Cornell
Brown
Columbia
Uchicago
WashU
Emory
And other such schools :) Also, if I applied into a policy/politics program, how hard would it be to transfer into a business one later if i changed my mind?

Anywhere for improvement? Also, do my stats/EC's have the potential to get me decent scholarships (not necessarily based on financial situation) at any of the top 25 schools? I'm in a middle income crunch and I am really not looking forward to figuring that mess out.

Thanks!

thanks in advance for all of your help

As far as the Ivies go, you are definitely a competitive candidate. The GPA may be a detriment, but considering you're at a very competitive high school, I guess it balances out. Good extracurriculars if you want to go into politics and such, definitely shows your passion for the field. The biology research seems a bit random, but I guess it's a good sign of versatility. Okay sorry, I'm rambling and not talking about chances. I guess I'll just make a list:

Harvard - Reach (as it is for anyone)
Yale - Reach (same)
Princeton - Low Reach (not quite as hard but pretty much the same)
Stanford - Reach (seems like nobody gets in haha)
upenn - Low Reach
Cornell - Low Reach
Brown - High Match/Low Reach
Columbia - Low Reach
Uchicago - Match
WashU - High Match
Emory - Sorry, don't know much about it, so I don't want to mislead you

Overall, you're a competitive applicant and you'll most likely get into an Ivy or a couple.

chance me back please?

Look at the Yale SCEA decisions thread and you can see what kind of students are getting rejected/deferred/accepted.

the GPA from the “exceptionally rigorous state-chartered math/science academy” and that of your freshman year high school are different, and won’t be combined when colleges look at it. each will be treated and looked at individually.
