The amount of bump (if any) for SAT scores for URMs depends on many factors such as SES, HS attended (eg. Private vs. underserved), overcame adversity, etc.

-NYU- match
-Princeton- high reach (but you’re definitely competitive)
-Harvard- high reach (but you’re definitely competitive)
-Columbia- low reach
-University of Miami- match
-Emerson- match

i think youre safe for most of your schools outside of Harvard and Princeton… but authoring your own book is a plus. your SATs are a bit on the low side but for everywhere else I don’t think it will matter too much. good luck!

-NYU-match
-Princeton,Harvard, Yale, Columbia -Ivy League schools are always a flip of the coin but i say your a mid-reach/high reach(SAT’s could be better)
-University of Miami-Match
-Emerson-Match/ Saftey

Can you chance me for GW thats my main concern?

Columbia: (within) Reach (I’d aim for CU, minority status has a lot of sway, SATs are not stressed as much in admissions as with equally competitive schools, and they’ll certainly be impressed by your demonstrated passion for writing)

Your GPA is excellent, transcript seems pretty solid (but 4 AP’s is pretty weak for a Ivy), SAT is way off for Ivy (perhaps should reconsider?), BUT your EC’s are fantastic (I’m a DECA kid myself, lol), your self-authored book will def capture attention in admissions offices, and I’m assuming that = great essays/recs! On that note, here are my chances:

-NYU: Match-Reach
-Princeton: BIG BIG BIG Reach
-Harvard: BIG BIG BIG BIG Reach
-Columbia: Reasonable-BIG Reach (I’d say this is the most holistic out of the Ivies, so you have the best shot here)
-University of Miami: In
-Emerson: In

As much as the EC’s are huge, that won’t save you at these schools, where 1600’s get rejected. I would look into some other schools, such as:

NYU - In
Princeton - Reach
Harvard - Reach
Columbia - Reach
University of Miami - In
Emerson - In
Yale - Reach

Honestly, I don’t think any of the high IVY’s are targets/low reaches for anyone unless they have phenomenal stats. Your grades and EC’s are very decent but the applicant pool for all of the top IVY’s have even better stats. I think ethnicity will give you a great edge, but your test scores will hurt your application to the IVYs

Wow, you’ve already completed two novels?! I think that’s pretty amazing. Your ECs look pretty solid, but your SAT score might look weak compared to other applicants. Your ethnicity will definitely help you though.

NYU: match
Princeton: reach
Harvard: reach
Columbia: low reach
Univ. of Miami: match
Emerson: match
Yale: reach

The only reason I think the Ivy schools are reaches is that I don’t think it’s possible to confidently state them as matches.

While I would agree that your test scores are not as high as i have seen, I don’t think you’re out of the running for anything.

I think what everyone seems to forget is that the admissions officers will look at the application holistically, whereas most people on this website judge you solely on some numbers. That, I believe, is the biggest problem with CC that I’ve found. I wouldn’r rule out any school on your list as being such a reach that you’ve got no shot. You seem like a bright girl to me, and I’m sure that will come through in your apps.
