Penn only takes in account legacy seriously for ED, which you don’t seem to be applying for. In fact, I’ve seen many well-qualified students who are legacies turned down RD, who likely would have gotten in if they weren’t legacies, because it really hurts you to be a legacy during RD. They feel that not applying early means that you’re not showing interest (since, presumably, you know enough about the school from your parents), so they actually are likely to turn you down as a result.

You have a great chance. When it comes to your college essay, it sounds like it would stand out. I honestly think you have above average chances at all of the schoold listed. best of luck!

Really, Penn legacy can decrease one’s chances for RD? That suprises me.

its looking great! strong application, perfect scores, and a nice array of EC’s, ur lucky man! plus i agree with BlueCanary

no u can only apply to one ea school no matter where

I thought there was an exception for some state schools with rolling admissions. Myabe I’m wrong though.

Being from Alaska’s good; white not so much…Good stats; your bound to get into one.

Please don’t apply to UW. I want to get in, and people like you will take my spots. :D

I honestly think you’re very competitive for any of those places. Solid test scores, SAT and APs, good ECs, and your rank is 1 out of 400 people. I think you’re in really good shape.

Good Stats.

Decent Extracurriculars. I don’t see individual distinction. You mention state champions in a debate but thats a team effort. 2-3 Leadership positions, which is probably average. Mentorship is interesting.

Chances are pretty good for schools with admit rates >10%. I’d say you’re in at least one of the top 7 or so. You have a 50%+ chance at all of the schools on the list.

Harvard accepts around 50% of 2400’s. It was on their Admissions stats like 2 years back. The supply of 2400’s have stayed the same so this number stays the same. Since you are from Alaska, you get Demographic points.

I tried to play up leadership in extracurriculurs, so hopefully that will help. I also have a couple major debate awards (like Academic All American which is awarded to .33% of all speech and debate students) so that might make me stand out a bit more. Thanks for your response.

wow. you’re one of the strongest applicants i’ve ever seen… I really think youre in everywhere Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and MIT, but you have a ~50% chance at each of those.

Man, everything is near perfect. However you need more leadership positions. It shows that you make change, not follow change. Other than that, I think almost everything is a match! :)
