hey thanks for your post,
u dont need to be “un-asian” or anything. If you can improve your scores a lil its an advantage that could help ur case, bt if u cnt then it comes down to your recommendations/essays and that lil pinch of luck (a must) for any of those colleges… They are holistic in their review and I have seen cases of students being accepted with sumwot lesser scores too… I say u hold ur stand and just wait for those acceptances…

I wish we both get in ;)

Best of Luck!!

:)

Your SAT score isn’t so hot, so I’d highly recommend retaking it. And it’s not a good idea to take two SAT IIs BOTH in math. You should take another like biology or world history or something.

I almost died when I saw the “should I be un-asian in my app”. Hahahaha, I feel your pain- I’m 100% Korean, typical Asian HYPS student. But the admissions office is going to see your ethnicity anyways, so just be yourself. I’m scared to death that my ethnicity is going to hurt my chances of getting into an Ivy, even though my app is qualified+ compared to tons of other applicants.

Grades/GPA/class rank are SET. Raising your SAT scores to the mid 2200-2300 range couldn’t hurt. And your EC’s seem awesome. Learning breakdancing against your parents’ will could be a good essay topic, and would distinguish you from the typical Asian applicant that’s a straight-A, coffee-fueled machine.

I think you have a pretty good chance of at least being deferred, possibly accepted. Of course, you never know with the Ivies, where the final decision usually comes down to sheer luck.

Best of luck! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1304596-chance-me-ill-chance-back.html

Haha thanks, good luck to you too!

Everything looks great except your CR score. I could not honestly see you getting into Harvard with a CR score like that. Take your SAT again and prep as much as you need to. Like I said though, everything else looks wonderful.

Wow, your stats are remarkable. I can really see your passion for math. You have solid stats and EC. You also have great leadership positions. It seems as if you would have no problem getting in. Good luck!

You have excellent grades and a nice SAT. Your ECs are pretty focused on maths, but you lack a major award. You also lack depth in the other ECs. If there’s still time, you should focus on doing something very unique. Make sure your essays stand out. I believe that you’ll be accepted in at least one ivy.

How is it possible to have a weighted GPA over 6.0? If you take all AP’s every year starting from freshman year and get all A’s your GPA would be a 6.0?

Well, each high school calculates the weighted GPA differently. So, it might be possible to get a 7.0 W GPA in cheesedude’s school. Or, it could be a typo.

Your extracurriculars and GPA are more than strong enough to get in. Your only weak point are your board scores (SAT, SAT II, and AP). I don’t know anything about your school but I’d say about a match.

It’s weird, IB, AP and honors courses boost your grade over time and I took extra ones too

Wow! You have great EC’s, maybe writing the essay about break dancing against your parents will would be really interesting! thanks for chancing me :)

bump! bump! bump! bump!
