Almost forgot! Intended major = Engineering OR Pre-Med (unsure at this point)

…anybody???

liv4physicz I think UMich is a shot in the dark. Primarily because of your poor frosh grades. You didn’t tell us what they were so they must be really bad. It’s good that you want to boost your SATs to a 2200 but you aren’t going to look as good as an asian american from nonsuburban detroit who’s parents income isn’t 175k who got a 2330 on his/her first shot. It’s really good that you took a lot of AP classes. That might help you out. Also, the valuable leadership skills like the ones you gained from babysitting are exactly what selective programs look for. You’ll excel as a premed major!

They were - sadly - probably an even mixture of As and Bs, and even two Cs :frowning: what SUCKS is U of M used to be one of the schools that didn’t count frosh grades! Do you think they still have that sorta mindset at all, that that year is a transition period, and if that’s what’s bringing your GPA down, it’s not so bad?

Is a 3.7 THAT bad? I mean, could be worse, right? My UW GPAs for soph/junior years were both like 3.9s!

I think U Mich is a match for you, and I also think you are good enough to get into a better school. Just try to bring up the ACT or SAT

Chance back!!!
