<p>Hello everyone. I just got my SAT-1 scores today so am putting myself up on CC and please please chance me for Harvard,Yale and Princeton. I know its very very tough to get through but please take a look.My credentials are as follows :-</p>

<p>SAT - I : CR 660, Math 800, Writing 730 = 2190/2400.
SAT - II : Lit. 610, Math Level I 770, Math Level II 780.</p>

<p>Rank - 9th Grade - 2/245
10th Grade - 1/245
11th Grade - 1/245
12th Grade - 1/245</p>

<p>GPA - 4.0 on a 4.0 scale (all 4 years).</p>

<p>No AP or IB offered in my school. Most rigorous curriculum taken.</p>

<p>Awards:
- Awarded the Certificate of Highest Merit by the Central Board of Secondary Education for
securing Highest in English in India.
- Winner - All India Reynolds Scholarship for Best All-Rounder.<br>
- Awarded the Certificate Of Honour for All-Round Excellence and Achievement at The
Telegraph School Awards.
- Awarded the SP Banerjee Badge for Excellence for Best All-Rounder.
- Awarded the Best Student of the Year Award by Lions Club International.
- Awarded the Best Student Award by Parivar Milan Foundation.

Bournvita Quiz Contest.</p>

<p>Debate - Won a few debates, School Speaker,School Representative at Model UN</p>

<p>Creative Writing - School Magazine Co-editor, won some prestigious All India Writing
Contests.</p>

<p>Sports - Member of Varsity Athletics, Football(soccer) teams</p>

<p>Essays - decent
Teacher reco. - Outstanding
Counselor reco. - Great
Principal reco. - superb (seen all of the above)</p>

<p>PLease please chance me for Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Duke, UChicago, UPenn, Northwestern, Columbia, and Brown.</p>

<p>I know its highly difficult for me to get in, but I'd really appreciate any honest comments. Should i even hope to get in.?</p>

<p>The competition from India at all of these schools is brutal. Each of these schools will take only a few per year and there are thousands of applications. It's especially brutal if you need aid.</p>

<p>I would work on bringing up the CR score and finding a way to read very differently from the other high stats kids applying from your country. The rock band is interesting, especially if you've had some real success and could make a good focus.</p>

<p>Those stats aren't that crazy... Especially for an international. You're SATI scores are a tad low for the pool you'll be competing in unfortunately.</p>

<p>If you need financial aid, you're chances are slim to none. Depends on how well you can sell yourself.</p>

<p>If you don't? Your chances increase ten-fold.</p>

<p>You have some interesting EC's. Perhaps you can play the musician/athlete off well. Who knows?</p>

<p>Chances are against you- but you still have some. Better than the lottery? Totally! You only get once chance to apply to HYPSM in your life (pretty much). Go for it.</p>

<p>I know my stats are not amazing but I hope they are in the ballpark for the ivies. wont be able to improve upon my scores because march sat scores wont be accepted for fall '09 admission. I have focused on my rock band (common app.short answer) and hope that it will set me apart. </p>

<p>You REALLY want to get those SAT2 scores up for the Ivies, and do you have any other extra cirriculars other than the rock band thing (which you really need to talk about in your essays)? I'd also send in a CD if possible.

What exactly are you applying for? Engineering?</p>

<p>i intend to major in Econ..i am repenting my CR and Lit.scores because I could take both sat reasoning and subject tests once each and no prospect of retaking now..</p>

<p>a close friend of mine in Bangalore got his Harvard interview call 2 days back..now,India is not in the list of countries listed on the Harvard College website which specifically says that applicants from other countries apart from the ones listed above won't have interviews unless the admissions committee wants to know more about them..so is the interview call a good sign for him or is it just normal.??</p>

as long as your friend doesnt screw up im sure he'll get in.</p>
