Interviews:

Only one I had so far was for MIT: EC said that he'll "send off a report right away telling them how wonderful you are". I thought the interview went quite well, we got along really well and talked bout everything from the food at MIT to some questions on standard deviation in Stats. Another note...The EC and I probably laughed more than we actually talked lol..he was a very funny, jolly old man and I have quite a sense of humor.

Essays:

Common App one was about how my grandpa(who raised me till 6 years old) passing away and living in rural China for 6 year has influenced me, the additional information section essay was about my first experience of U.S. culture and language, and how multiple relocations have affected me, short answer was on piano. The engineering supplements required by some colleges were about my grandpa's influence, my pursuit in math and science teams, helping mom with proteomics research, customized for each college.

Thanks in advance for all your chances.

Ummm…I’m not sure how to do this as I don’t know much about colleges, so this is just from looking at people admitted.

Harvard: achievable reach
Yale: achievable reach
Princeton: achievable reach
MIT: reach
UPenn: maybe in
Dartmouth: maybe in
Cornell: in (from what I’ve seen)
Columbia: maybe in
Caltech: reach
Stanford: reach
Brown: definitely in (as long as you can pay the $$$, the only care if you are rich)
John Hopkins: reach
Rice: in
University of Chicago: in
University of Michigan: in
Duke: achievable reach
Northwestern: in
University of Minnesota: definitely in
Emory: probably in
Vanderbilt: in
Georgetown: refer to Brown…

Out of curiosity, Harvard has BioMed?

P.P.S. Ni hwe shwa zhong gua ren? (Wo bu hwe shwa zhong gua ren hen hao haha)

*Ni hwe shwa puthungwa. Epic Fail lol

Haha =D

Yes, wo hui shuo pu tong hua.

Your P.P.S. said “Can you speak Chinese people?”. LOL  and “(I can’t speak Chinese people very well”) the “ren” means people

=D

Harvard does have biomed, very very recently added to their undergraduate program, I got so excited when I read it =D

Thanks for the chances bro.

Rank slow for the ivies unless your high school is super competitive.

Then, if you’re seeking aid, those not need blind to intnls will be unpredictable. I think you’d be wise to add some schools where you’re an off the charts candidate.

hm well…

so many colleges haha.

But i think you put on my post that you were applying to UC Berkeley and UCLA soooo:

UC Berkeley and UCLA: I think you have really really really good shot. I’d be surprised if you were rejected.

The others I kind of have no idea about since I’m poor and only applied to UC’s

Happy Holidays.

Except… keep in mind that Biomedical Engineering is VERY VERY VERY competitive.

But you still have a great shot at the UC’s.
