What are my chances for Ivy League, Stanford,MIT? Thanks in advance!

my uncle and grandfather attended the university...i'm not sure if this would tip the scales in my favor, however...will someone please clarify this with me?! thanks =)

You can't major in medicine.

Aside from that, you're fairly competitive for the Ivy League as a whole - meaning that you have good chances at getting into one or many of them.

As for Yale individually, it's a tough call, especially since int'l admissions is extremely cut-throat. But you look like you have as good a chance as any.

thank you =)

Looking at your stats you are definitely in the range for Ivy schools. Btw, how many points do you expect to be predicted for the IB? In your application I would try and bring forth the real you, the one behind all the numbers. Admissions officers do not want a perfect student, they want a personality with its good and bad sides. Good luck!

SL Math- 7
SL Economics- 7
SL French- 5

HL English- 7
HL Biology -7
HL Chemistry - 7

That's OK then. As long as you maintain this kind of score throughout the two years of IB you should be fine. You are bound to be accepted somewhere good.

thanks a lot :)

Somebody please? Come on this is my final chances thread!

muerteapablo put it best, there isn't too much to add. Any major EC's outside of service work?

Nope, none =)...just a few math competitions.

You're competitive. It's not really going to come down to your stats anymore.

Hehe, you don't like French, do you?

You look like a competitive candidate.

Haha..no it's my french teacher...he never gives a project above a 5!!!

^ Damn, I hate teachers like that! My IT teacher is like that, but he never gives above a 6 :/

A 5 is actually pretty low. I mean I know teachers who rarely give 7's but to restrict it to a 5, that's pretty mean. I'm sure that wouldn't hurt your chances though, so don't worry.

Yes, I agree completely. From previous grades I have received top marks in French. Hopefully Yale will realize that my teacher is the reason for the 5:P.

Sci-Fry, when is your college year?

^ I'll be graduating from HS 2 years from now (so I'll be in the Class of 2014)

Good luck to you.
