Bump Bump :)

Impressive. Your academic achievements are wonderful, and you seem to have a well-rounded set of Ecs. Your essay topic sounds good too. Just keep polishing your essays and you’re going to be fine. Make sure your personalities shine. Best of luck!

You’re okay with all, except Stanford of course and perhaps Northwestern.
Come back to post your results and decision!

Out of curiosity: will you ask to be deferred from the army if you get into a college? Or ask the colleges to defer enrollment until you’re done with the army? Can you postpone the army until you have a degree or do you have to enroll - then, either finish and go to college afterwards, or interrupt the army in August, go to college, graduate, and resume the army?

Thank you all for your speedy and rather generously kind responses  Much appreciated!

In response to MYOS1634, The way it works is that I would have to complete my entire period of service or at least the majority of it, save a few months, before I can join university. If my army period does get disrupted for university in August or September of 2015, which is unlikely, I’d have to complete it later on, perhaps in the summer. In my case however, I only serve 1 year and 10 months and thereby finish by December 2015, which also gives the option to enroll in a spring term in university in January 2016 and use some IB credits to help me with that. Or, I might just wait till August of 2016, which would kind of suck. Thankfully, I am not worrying too much about all this for now, these concerns are saved for later on :P

I was also wondering whether I could aim slightly higher when it comes to applying! I am specifically looking to study in a large university in a city environment, like most of the universities I have listed. Could anyone suggest a few more academically prolific universities that meet these requirements that are great to study Economics in? However, my score of 38 in the IB is fairly good but much too low when it comes to say, the Ivy League. It definitely is the most important factor, or am I wrong about that?

Bump once again  Also, regarding extracurricular activities, including paid work, I’d have to narrow it down to 10 in total for the CommonApp right? What about the UC App?

Another cheeky bump teehee :)

With that 38, you can stand to add a couple more “reaches”, and you’re good for the rest of the list.

Thanks for the explanation!
