I still haven't fully grasped the concept of rolling admission, but since there is no deadline for this school, I'm wondering if I'll have any chance to be considered for this year.

Age: Turning 22 in summer.
High school record: Dropped out. Freshman probably straight A. Sophomore probably unrecorded or F's since I had to drop out abruptly out of ordinary.
SAT reasoning: 2320
SAT subject: 3 with mid 700's and a 800. Taking 5 more this coming June. Hopefully 700's to close to 800 or 800.
AP: Want to take them, but it looks like I have to be a high school student in order to be eligible? Also, the deadlines might have passed already anyway. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Will I have any chance to be admitted to the REGULAR school IN JUNE since I suppose there are other schools like honors, engineering, business that are as difficult to get in as top 5-30 universities. I doubt there will be a spot 2-3 months before the beginning of the fall semester, but will I be able to turn their heads by good standardized test scores?

Hi megaphono,
While St. Olaf supposedly continues to accept applications according to their website, it might be pretty tough. According to US News website, regular admissions (excluding ED and EA) acceptance rate from 2006 was 32%, and I am sure it has only gotten tougher. If you are really interested in applying at this point, I would look up your admissions counselor on their website and contact them directly. They would probably be more than willing to give you any information that you need.

Did you get a GED or are you trying to apply simply haven taken your freshman year of high school?

You need to research this school before you apply to it. You sound as though you think it's community college; it's one of the top liberal arts colleges and certainly does not have separate schools for engineering, business, or an honors college.

I don't think you understand the concept of rolling admissions anyway. And your stats are not strong enough to sway them to admit you at this point in the slightest (unless you have some genius extracurricular activity that you're not telling us about)

CurrySpice is right....it sounds like you might have St. Olaf mixed up with another school?

I would REALLY doubt it if they still have spots in the class of 2012 available....get in contact with admissions and they can let you know for sure.

Sounds like you might have a special situation. Although the SAT's would sound impressive for a 17 or 18 yo, your age and history would be subject to a lot of consideration. Most "good" private schools are very GPA sensitive, too - either 3-4 yrs of high school or 1-2 years of college work.

Further finances are a discussion. Private schools are running $45k - 50k per year. This is very late in the season for admission, much less financial aid beyond federal & state. One occasionally hears of late admissions at top tier schools, up to start of classes, for extraordinary talent, track record and circumstances (perhaps more likely 15 or 16).

You might try the state schools that have rolling admissions, often into May and June. The right professor or admissions person can be helpful. High scores alone tend to indicate high risk as well as high potential. You need to ask around, have a coherent story, and read, a lot.
