Chance at stanford?

Hi. I am currently a Junior in high school and i am thinking of applying to Stanford in my senior year for early action.

I am korean-american. (English is my second language)

By my senior year, my expected GPA is around 4.8 out of 5.0(weighted)

My composite SAT score is 2140

Math- 800
CR- 660
Writing- 680.

My rank is 24th out of 884.

Also, my school is one of the worst high schools in this nation. (if this means anything)

For my extracurricular activities,

i have been in my church's praise band for 5 years and i've been the leader of the band for 2 years.

i've volunteered in my local library for past 2 years consistently.

i am the regimental commander in the JROTC in my school(the top person in charge).

Played baseball for 4 years, 2 years in varsity and will play varsity football in senior year.

I have started the school's math team.

I am in scholastic bowl team.

I have taken 4 years of math up to now (junior year including AP Calc BC and AP Statistics) and will take Multivariable Calculus and Physics in the community college.

I know i am a little shaky on my CR...

But i am confident that i can get an 800 on SAT II Math level 2.

Would my strength in math compensate the weakness i have in english?

Do you guys think i would even have a smallest chance of getting accepted at Stanford?

I REALLY REALLY want to get into Stanford and i would like to know if i would even have a chance.

Please be honest. If you guys think i have no chance at all, please tell me so and why.

Thank you guys.

P.S. If no for Stanford, how about MIT, Princeton or Brown?

I've known people who got into Stanford with very very low SAT scores (and they didn't get in because of affirmative action either). However, your SAT score doesn't concern me; you just haven't done anything significant with your extra curriculars.

It's not just about getting involved, maybe volunteer here or there; you have to realize that if Stanford accepts you, then they're investing in you and they want somebody they think can make a difference by accepting them.

I've talked to admissions officers when I visited Stanford, and they're looking for leadership and depth in activities. They emphasized passion a lot (like, mentioned it 7 times within 2 hours) and the quality of the essays. The admissions officer I talked to had just graduated from Stanford as an English major; he said he heavily criticized the essays, so essays will make or break you.

Don't ever think you have no chance of getting in. Since you're still a junior, I'd recommend starting a club or something. So something that shows leadership, passion, and depth. Have fun!

^^^^ He started math club and he's leader of teh JROTC.

Just improve your SAT scores. You need to have above 700's at the least, unless your like a sports recruit so something.
