*Straight A's throughout my high school career so far, but the difficulty of my classes was not high. I am scared. My counselor messed up my schedule freshman year and I was unable to change my class schedule. I took all the AP classes offered at my school.

ECS:
- Volunteer at my local hospital
-Member of Key Club since freshman year, now I am secretary
- Member of Environmental club since sophomore year
- Dance instructor for children at my church
- Teacher for Sunday School
- Member of National Honor Society since sophomore year
- Badminton player since sophomore year
- Piano student since I was 7
- Piano player for worship team
- *I will be shadowing a graduate student from a Univeristy
- Freshman year I only did two hours of community service, Sophomore year I only did 20, and I am trying to complete 100 hours by the end of this school year, but so far I only have 27 :(

What do you think my chances are of getting in?

Oh and my SAT score was 2100.

I am planning on taking an SAT subject test in Chemistry and hoping to at least score a 700...

Is there anything else I can do? I mean I know it's a little late and all but I just want to do anything I can.

I forgot to mention that I am also a link crew leader. (student mentor)

bumppppp !!!

Bump bump bump bump bump

I think that, in general, chancing people for a school like UCLA right now is really tough. I have friends that had 4.5 GPAs and didn’t get into UCLA, but I also know people that had lower academic stats than you that got in. Admissions into UCLA for the next year or two really is a gamble. When I applied this past year, I read from some sources that there were over 90000 applicants, a new record. This bump in the number of applications to all colleges will most likely last for the next couple of years, so chancing people for such schools as UCLA where so many applicants apply is tough. Personally, I got waitlisted with what I consider to be similar academic stats to you, but perhaps not as significant extracurriculars. If you could improve anything, I would advise that you take the SAT again or attempt the ACT to raise your score. You may find that you like the ACT more and may raise your score (or you might get lucky like me and do well on the third try when you thought you did horribly  ). While 2100 is good, I think that a higher score would be greatly beneficial. I took the ACT for a third time in October, a month before admissions deadlines for the UC’s, and got my best score then (33). Good Luck!

@DRussian - I really appreciate your reply. I will definitely retake the SAT and aim for a higher score. But like you said, it’s honestly a gamble. Even though I desperately want to get into UCLA I realize that not getting in won’t be the end of the world.

good attitude! I would highly recommend taking the ACT as well. I originally was planning on taking the SAT (due to performing better on practice tests on SAT than on ACT), but lo and behold, I ended up performing better on the ACT.
