<p>i agree... but you've got solid test scores and it seems like you've taken a difficult course load, so you never know. My GPA was really border line like your's as a transfer applicant, but I took lots of upper level couses in college</p>
<p>i agree unlikely, michigan is not an easy school, i hate when people act like its some backup thing--Im proud of michigan--it takes good grades to get there people!</p>
<p>There was an applicant on CC who had a 3.1 last year, and got in.</p>
<p>But he had a perfect score on his SAT.</p>
<p>There are other applicants who had 3.5's and 1180's, and got in from CC last year. Even a 3.3 and a 29 got in.</p>
<p>They will view your application holistically, reading your essay first, trying to find the person behind the application. Make sure you can make up for your grades with the rest of your application.</p>
<p>The adcoms will read your essay FIRST, and then look over the rest of it. This tells me that the essay can really create a negative or positive "first impression". That being said, you still need good grades.</p>
<p>I think my essay is very good. I chose essay C, which talks about truth and beauty and art and science.. and I related it to myself somewhat but I think it shows my opinion, and my writing style...</p>
