I don’t see how you won’t get into BU, but your UW GPA is a bit low for Columbia/MIT, and your UC GPA is a bit below average for Cal. That ACT might make up for your GPA at Cal, but your ECs also don’t show much STEM involvement for MIT. However, with Cal, CMU, MIT, Ivies, it’s a crapshoot for everyone soooo
Good luck and enjoy the ride?

Your UW GPA is pretty low for top schools, and your ECs aren’t that focused, but your ACT is good. Common app being weak may be an issue.
I’d say:
UCI: Accept
UCB: Waitlist
CMU: Reject (I hear engineering is super hard)
Columbia: Reject
MIT: Reject
Boston university: Accept
Northeastern: Accept

Best of luck! Chance me back? http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1966406-chance-me-upenn-ed-yale-brown-princeton-etc-will-chance-back-p1.html

^ that’s probably pretty likely

  • got a rec recommendation from Berkeley

@writergirl0316 straight facts, shes right @LookAtThisNet

Hey! Your GPA as most pointed out is weak and I disagree that you can make up for this loss through ACT or any other aspect of your application. Usually, GPA is more important because of it evaluates you over a longer period of time and a larger scope. More importantly, as I said before it is an independent part of your application. So, I would say keep ready for whatever may happen. However, your ACT is strong and you don’t need to worry about that. It will give you a fair advantage. Your ECs aren’t focused, but they certainly show involvement and initiative to help yourself and relieve the pressure on your parents/guardians. So I’d say:

UCI: Accept
UCB: Accept
(The rec request doesn’t mean much from the admissions point of view apart from the fact that they may want to confirm some activity or know more about you. I know people who didn’t get them and still got in)

CMU: Reject (The CIT and SCS are really weird)
Columbia: Reject
MIT: Reject
Boston university: Accept
Northeastern: Accept

Keep up the work no matter where you go for college! It’s nice to know about you! Best of Luck!
