chance for a sophomore!

I am a sophomore and all i can think about is going to the best possible school. Maryland is an instate school, i live in montgomery county. I know that my gpa is super low but thats because of a bad freshman year. ive gotten a 3.7 every quarter of this year so it should go up.

Please tell me if there is any chance of me getting in and what i can do to improve my app (i know theres a lot).

Keep your GPA rising. As long as it goes up, your freshman year shouldn’t hurt you too much. Your grades and references from Junior Year are REALLY important for your college apps. Stay focused on your classes, do the ECs that you really want to (not just ones that will look good on a college ap), and spend a bit of time preparing for the SAT. With a 200 PSAT, you will probably be fine for your SAT. Getting/keeping your grades up will be the best thing you can do for yourself. And relax (and stay away from CC) and enjoy high school.
