Hi everyone! After spending hours on end on CC, I decided to post myself. I am incredibly anxious about the college admission process and am stressed out to the max.
I'm looking at:
UVA (grandpa was honors professors there, very prominent English literature author)
Bowdoin
Barnard (possibly ED)
Dartmouth and Brown
Amherst
Georgetown

I am an international (German) female studying in the US at an all girls IB boarding school, but I don't have citizenship.
Stats-
GPA: very, very low: 87-89/100. I struggled with a very severe eating disorder and depression (I missed three months of school) through 10th grade and it affected my grades severely. I also had very poor English skills upon coming to the US in 10th grade
ACT: 32, retaking in June and hoping for a 33-34
TOEFL: 117/120
SAT II: not taken yet but I am thinking of History and English Lit, hoping for a 750+ on both
ECs: Yearbook Editor, Girl Up Club and Leadership Summit, German Club President, Varsity Tennis Captain (10-12 grade), Varsity Lacrosse, Social Services group, Head of School (entire student body elects one girl to represent during senior year), NEDA Volunteer Speaker, NEDA Walk Coordinator, NEDA Proud2BMe Volunteer and 200+ CAS hours (IB requirement)
Summer: between 9th & 10th- Unpaid internship at one of Germany's top hospitals in the women's abuse station, betw. 10 & 11th- Volunteer at one of Germany's most renowned psychiatrist clinics, betw. 11th & 12th- will intern at Germany's most well known newspaper headquarters as a journalist

I am also a first generation college student as my mother grew up in East Germany and was denied college education and my dad had to stop going to high school to help bring money to the family.
I will not need financial aid.
My recommendations will be stellar; my history teacher absolutely adores me.
I am going to write my essay on my German heritage and how I am proud of it despite the many issues Germany's had in the past, and how my friends often dub me as "American" and I see America as my second home, but I will always be German at heart.

I have all IB classes and am a full diploma candidate.
Senior year course schedule: IB SL Math, IB SL Bio, IB SL Spanish, IB HL Psych, IB HL History and IB HL English (+ IB ToK)

I am very interested in barnard but I feel like my GPA is way too low for all of the schools I am looking at.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :) thank you!
