Want to be an engineer for sure ( I like rebuilding things, solving, making something extrordinary, like applying physics to life) Stuck between Mechanical, electrical, or aerospace

Colleges:
RPI
WPI
carnegie mellon
Maryland
Purdue
Gtech
Cal tech or UC berk
UIUC
MIT reach
Cornell

If you keep everything up I think you are definitely fine for RPI and WPI. I’m not sure of the others, but I feel like MIT and CalTech are always gambles.

Your GPA is decent. For selective schools, your UW is a little low… try to get it to 3.9+ this year if possible. If not, your W is still good. Your AP load isn’t outstanding, but it looks like you’ll balance that out senior year, so try to get good grades in those classes!

You never mentioned where you live, but I would look into your state school as well. I am looking at colleges for next year and my state school has a huge engineering school and a diverse bio program…and all for a cheap price! For your ECs, try to get a bigger list together–get involved in more clubs, etc. Also getting awards/recognition in your ECs is a HUGE plus in almost any school you apply to. Good luck and I hope this helped a bit!

As long as you get your sat scores up, you should good! Good luck!!

Maryland, I know i can get my GPA higher in the next year. I am trying to get a feel for more clubs. I’ve also played piano and guitar for 4.5 years.

Jobs/ internships count as EC right???

For RPI try to get those SAT scores up from what you got on the PSAT. For the class of 2014 the 25th - 75th percentile was 1280-1450/1600. The exact numbers for the class of 2015 are not released yet but are said to be even higher.
