Recommendation-
-I got one from the teacher I had for 3 years; his letter of recommendation is great, but on evaluation, he didnt put me down as "one of the few I saw in my career" thing.
-I'm waiting from my English, AP US and AP Calc teacher for a recommendation and since they let me read it, im going to choose
-I have a supplementary recommendation from my school's principle; its really great, 2 pages; he talks about my leadership and my huge committment in volunteering (I worked with him several times to plan volunteering events and stuff) would it be wise to send in supplementary? I know Columbia was kinda Eh about sending an extra recommendation.

Essay-
-I'm about 80% done with the main essay; I let few people read it, and they thought it was really great.

I know I havent won any prestigious awards or anything. But I am really passionate about volunteering and I thought I had achieved a lot since I moved to U.S. when I was 12 (7th grade) not knowing any English.

So, I know that Columbia is very very hard to get into. But do I stand a decent chance?
Chance me please!

bump bumpppppp

Well, the scores are very 'average' for Columbia (I hate when people say that because scores like that are truly excellent) and also the fact that you're Asian may hurt.

But it's not like they would look at your application and throw it away.

It'll come down to recs, essays, and a pinch of fairydust. (<---- Not PCP).

I mean if you were to get in it would not be a miracle by any means, but nothing is certain also.

Your scores aren't the greatest--esp in CR and V. Bring out how passionate you are about volunteering. Your profile is good, but isn't stellar. The adcom sees lots of profiles like yours.

yeah, hopefully my CR + W will go up to 700+ when i take in in couple days

anyone else?
