Really good academics but seriouslly get more volunteer hours. 100 is just not enough anymore. Besides that, if you have a great essay then you’ll stand a chance. Good luck :)

You don’t need to retake your SAT. It just gets kind of petty after you break 2200.

Here’s the problem. You’re an average Asian applicant. I’m not being racist; I’m Asian too.
You’re really, really good at math and physics and science and piano. That should be good enough but unfortunately you stand at an inherent disadvantage in admissions. WriterColumbia is right. More volunteer hours, more passion for community service. Show that you care about other people as much as you care about academics. If you can’t muster that genuinely, at least make it look like it. Most kids top out at 250-400 hours these days. Gotta keep up!

^ agreed. Your recs should be outstanding with those stats, but work hard on your essay (cliched advice I know haha, but its really important). Make sure it focuses on you and how your are unique. GL. I wouldn’t stress too much because even if you don’t get in Columbia, with those stats you would still be admitted to a great school. Take advantage of this summer and do something productive like volunteering.

If, suppose, you were to be in South Dakota or North Dakota, I would say you’re definitely in if you would apply to ED for Columbia. However, since you live in washington state and an asian, I think essays and letters of recommendation may affect your chances of acceptance. It’s always important to ask politely to your school counselor and get an awesome recommendation from a teacher who knows you positively in a best way. I wish you a great admission, and hope things work out for you.
