What are my chances of getting into a decent Florida state university

<p>My gpa is low for now but it should rise after my gpa recalculates. </p>

<p>Gpa: 3.0
Act:16 (Low I know) but I'm retaking it
Sat: Havent taken it yet</p>

<p>I have taken honors classes throughout my high school years (I<code>m a senior now)
I have taken 1 Ap class this year and i</code>m doing a decent job so far.
I<code>ve been in many clubs and groups in my high school years:
-Future Business leaders of America for 2 years
-Band 2 years
-Chrous 1 year
-DECA all 4 years (My academy)
-150-170 Community service hours (I dont remember what it is exactly)
I</code>m African American, 17 years old, and i`m in the sped program (I dont know if that makes a difference or not. </p>

<p>So my big question is what is the next step i should do to make my college application better and what should i improve and do i have a chance to even get accepted to any of the Florida state universities. Please help, I really need assistance.</p>

<p>You really need to bring that ACT score to a 22-25.
With that you’ll have a decent chance at several universities (UWF, UNF, FIU…) plus Miami Dade College.
With a better ACT score, you would also have a shot at a few private colleges in and out of state.
If you stay with that ACT 16, your choices will be very limited, so try to use a prep book then the “red book”, reviewing the lessons for the questions you miss until you score 25+.</p>
