Chance for Harvard EA + others!

Hey everyone. Chance me please! (Can't offer to chance back, unfortunately - I'm completely unexperienced.)

California, Male, Asian (Korea + Uzbekistan)

GPA 4.0 unweighted, top 1% of large school (senior class of 600)

SAT 2400 single sitting
SAT Subject Math II, Chemistry, World Hist all 800
(is it helpful that all 3 were taken on the same date?)

AP: 5 on Psych, Chem, WHAP, Cal BC, Cal AB, APUSH, Phys. B, Eng Lang, Span Lang. This year I will take Bio, Eng Lit, Phys. C, Gov, Econ.

ECs:

Music: won international competitions, solo recitals at universities, concerto performances with major American orchestras. Perform for charities, nursing homes, fundraising events. Performed on From The Top last year.

Math: qualified for USAMO, went to some international competitions

Leadership: president and other stuff at school honor societies. Founded an educational program at a large museum nearby - working with the president and professors at the museum.

Academic Decathlon at a top school in the state (will not have competed at all in time for college apps, but our school has been historically very successful).

Other stuff too, but not sharing for sake of privacy.

Getting rec letter from principal of my school (this is not something that he usually does).

Columbia legacy from mother.

Chance me for:
Harvard EA
Columbia Regular
MIT Regular
Caltech Regular
Stanford Regular

Thank you all for the help!

■■■■■? 10char

Not trolling, I promise. Sorry if it came off that way.

GG WP. Surrender@20. (I hope you get this LOL)

Sadly, Ivy league schools are all reaches for everyone. You have great academic stats and ECs! You are a very strong candiate! Good luck!

Haha I don’t play league myself but friends do and I’ve picked up the jargon.

Thanks for the feedback!

I always find “chance me for Harvard” threads quite amusing.
Here’s the answer (same as almost everybody):

  1. You’re qualified
  2. >90% of qualified applicants are rejected.
    Any more questions?

What are you considering majoring in? Demonstrated focus could be an issue (obviously you’re a stellar applicant, I’m just being super-critical). If all your ECs are and general academia scattered around and have no discernible focus on what your declared interests are, you’ll have trouble standing out.

Harvard EA: Standard reach
Columbia Regular: High Match/Math with legacy
MIT Regular: Standard Reach
Caltech Regular: Mid Reach
Stanford Regular: Standard Reach

Other than that, read soze’s reply over again. And again. You have as good a chance as anybody, but nobody has chances worth anything.

@soze Would you grace this thread with your 1000th post!?!?
