Please, please chance me for:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
Dartmouth
Brown (8-year Med Program as well)
Cornell
MIT (I'm a double legacy)
Duke
Caltech

Bump bump bump

BumppppBUMPBumpppp

Your chances for MIT are good, especially since you’re a double legacy. I do have to say that it is not certain you will get accepted to this school, same goes for other institutions you have listed. This does not mean your chances are zero, so please apply and do not get discouraged by their low acceptance rates and whatnot.

I would say, however, that your chances would be better at Cornell, Duke, Dartmouth, and/or Brown.

I don’t see the extracurriculars being on par with Ivy leagues, nor the scores.

Good luck!

What is your intended major? This should be your top priority for choosing a school. Obviously you will get into a good school. Also, do not concentrate only on Ivies or their equals. Just like everyone else, have Reach, Match and Safety schools.

You never know what school will really capture your attention. My kid had a higher GPA and slightly lower SAT scores than you. Great EC and a multilingual/multicultural background. Effectively his applications were equal to yours. He was totally captured by a state school with an amazing reputation for engineering and decided to go there. He could have gone anywhere and turned down many of the most prestigious schools in our state for his school.

So, apply to colleges with your intended major and “fit” as your first priorities. A kid like you will only apply to and get into good schools, so I am not worried about reputation at all.

Your interests are all over the place. Do you want science, engineering, premed or business? If it is premed, go to a cheaper state school and save your money for med school. If it is business make sure to add Wharton and other good B-schools. If it is science and or engineering, MIT and Cal Tech are good, but forget Harvard and other similar schools.

I’ve sen too many kids like you fail to get into the schools that you mention and were stranded at a CC until they could transfer. All the schools you list are reaches for everyone even you.

Apply to all the schools that make sense to you. But also apply to other matches and safeties.

All of the schools you listed are so-so but seeing as your a double legacy for double legacy i think you have a very good shot for MIT. I can’t say its certain but you definitely have a shot. As for the others you stand a chance but remember to stand out in your essays. I’d say Cornell and Darthmouth are likely. GL!!

Chance me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1368547-chance-me-syracuse-howard-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

MIT doesn’t consider legacy… Regardless, you have a good shot. Quit worrying.

CentralFC, Sure i can see you saying that my extracurriculars are not on-par with the ivys, but how can you say my scores are when they are all perfect?

Your scores are really good, GPA decent. Any ivy league would be a reach since they’re ivy leagues haha. Good chance at MIT and Duke. Don’t know much about Caltech but they seem extremely selective. Good luck! Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1369312-chances-stanford-upenn-dartmouth-yale-ucs-usc.html</a></p>

Haha bro your in for sure, thats a solid app especially with the double legacy. Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1369326-cornell-ed-chances.html</a></p>

your shot is good
chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1368078-chances-wake-forest-university-richmond.html</a></p>

BUMpppppppppppppppppppppp

I think your stats are great! Your GPA is high, your SATs are perfect and you seem a well-rounded kid. Your ECs are good and you showed quite leadership. I would say that you’re going to probably be accepted at at least one of the schools mentioned. Even though, I suggest to you to look at each school to be sure that you really want to go there, stop looking just at elite schools and at a name. And find some safeties because there are a lot of kids like you out there, and every year perfect candidates are rejected by HYPS unfortunately.

Anyway I would say:
Yale: maybe the highest reach; I could be wrong, but they seem not to like perfect scores and things like that. But it is just my feeling about it, so definitely apply.
Harvard and Princeton: high reach like for anyone, but my feeling here is that you are quite a guy for this schools; I bet you’ll be in at one of these two. (Yep, I feel like a guru today :D)
Others: low reaches
MIT, even though is a high reach for everyone, I’d say isn’t for you… with a double legacy and scores like these MIT is probably the less reach of them all.

Chance me back? I feel sick compared to you. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1370677-please-chance-me-ivies-i-promise-ill-chance-anyone-back.html</a></p>

You have a good chance at all of those schools, which is definitely not common. What’s your intended major? Make sure your ECs show that you have a passion in that field. Beyond that, remember that there are thousands of extremely qualified applicants like you applying to the same list of schools as you. After a certain point, Ivy admissions are a bit of a crapshoot. Best of luck, I’m sure you’ll do great things regardless of where you end up.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1369061-chance-rising-junior-top-20-schools-will-chance-back.html#post14659904</a></p>

I agree w/ Adem96. MIT and Ivies are a crapshoot, but you have about as good of a chance as anyone. You have a 2400 SAT superscore, fantastic (perfect) SAT subject tests, and a great GPA (unweighted 3.9–they do look at 9-12, not just 10-12–but 3.9 is still very good; everyone accepted to Harvard doesn’t have a 4.0). Your EC’s are great, too. Just apply to quite a number of selective schools (of course, just the ones that you like), and I think that you will have a good chance of one or more acceptances.
