Your college list is very strange.

@20more

Why do you say that?

You got great GPA and scores. Did you take any subject test?
You should have a decent chance for Northwestern and Washington U. All the other ones should be match to low match. Are you trying to get some merit aids? You should be able to aim higher.

NW and Wash U are matches. Every other school on your list is a safety. I agree with @billcsho, you can definitely aim higher.

I don’t understand why people think Umich Ann Arbor becomes a safety?
Northwestern, Umich and Washu in St Louis are all matches, the rest are lower than your standards. Aim higher.

You would likely be a candidate for a Camras Scholarship at IIT.

Yeah…you should definitely aim higher.
I’m assuming you’re going to pursue Bio/chem
Aim for 800s for both Bio and Chem subject test

Great scores and academics and prizes
If your name is published in the manuscript then that’s good.
Make sure you are specific. Don’t just mention “biochem lab”; mention the specific research that you had done, for example “how neurons interact with other neurons when a person is nervous” etc.
The more specific you are, the less generic you can be, and that will help a great deal.

Chance back if you have the time. Thanks :)

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1519772-chances-cooper-union-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I think that the overall theme is that I need to aim higher.

Can you please suggest some universities that may be match/high match/low reach for me.

I am definitely going to apply to NU, WashU, Umich and UIUC, but what others are “at my level”.

I for one, think you should apply to at least 1 Ivy because your ACT score is almost perfect. I also believe that combined with your ECs and a killer essay, you’ll definitely get in.

Try Duke, Cornell, and perhaps even Stanford. You should try a few Ivy caliber schools. These and NU should be low reach to high match for you. If you do apply a handful of these schools, you should be accepted by one or two. You know schools at this level is highly competitive. You may also want to try UCB along side with UMich and WashU as matching schools. UIUC and UWI would be great safety.

Any more suggestions CC?

Northwestern - High Match
WashU - High Match
UIUC - Low Match
University of Wisconsin-Madison - Safety
University of Michigan- Ann Arbor - Low match
Purdue - safety

Don’t really know about the others, so assume safeties, since your test scores and GPA, the main factors of admission, are excellent.

Northwestern might be a bit difficult to get into, but I think you have an excellent chance at getting into the rest. I didn’t see a single true reach school in there, so I would suggest getting some.

For biomed, it is blasphemy not to have Johns Hopkins on your list. Low Reach.
Duke is also good at bio, Reach.
Ivies in general aren’t that great for biomed, but UPenn is okay.

Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1508837-chance-princeton-upenn-jerome-fisher-ivies-etc-3.html</a></p>

Aim higher, you’re pretty amazing!
All of the schools you’ve listed are safeties, except for maybe a match at Michigan
WashU and Northwestern are high matches

Def look at some top school, maybe Johns Hopkins or Duke or even Ivys

Chance back!
