Chance for NYU, Northwestern? will chance back!! THANKS

Hey guys!

First of all, a little bio about myself. I am Asian, female, and international. Three things that certainly will not make this process any easier.

I am a current Junior and have been looking at a few colleges.
(Any suggestions for other possible choices?)
Northwestern
UMichigan
NYU
Wash U st. Louis
U illnois
Indiana U (safety)

High School:
Mid-sized public school. Definitely not a great school, ranked like 150th in INDIANA....(Will this hurt my chances?)

Grades:
4.0w 4.57uw
~2,3 /370
APs: Taking all of the AP's offered at my school, about 9 of them

SAT:~2200

EC
Science Oly
Nationals- Team #15-20 and individual #7. Event leader and Captain next year.
Business Professionals of America, Chapter President next year. Some state medals.
Debate Society/MUN founder, President
Spanish Club, President next year
Habitat for Humanity, Possible VP next year
Softball league, 4-5 years

Internship
Have been interning at Wisdom Tools Inc. for a year now and will continue. It is a company that produces educational video games and I have been working as a Content Research Intern with a focus on bio-related topics. ~6 hours/ week

Independent Research
Just began working with a grad bio lab at an university and will continue for the next two years. ~6 hours/ week

Volunteering
500+ hours at local science museum and have received a presidential award for it. Made project manager and have been working extensively with the administration.
~100+ more hours in Habitat for Humanity
~100+ more hours in other scattered community services

I understand that I have weak EC’s. It is indeed very difficult to find many opportunities where I live (a small college town in southern Indiana, not the most interesting place in the world..) Any suggestion with the EC’s?

Thanks a bunch! :D

Anyone? :(

Are you applying for FA?

SAT II scores?
Intended Major?

Probably no FA, no SAT IIs yet, will be taking them this coming semester. Intended major: Biology with a possible business minor.

I’d say in at NYU, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. I think you have a great shot at NU and WashU, but hey, what do I know?

Have you looked at Duke or Georgetown?

Not extensively yet. Do you think they would be good ones to look into?

bummmmp dee bump

“4.0w 4.57uw”

I guess you have 4.0UWGPA and 4.57WGPA.

Since you are not applying for FA,

UIUC, NYU, Michigan: Very good chances
NW: Decent chances if you do well on SAT IIs
Wash U: Decent chances (Need aware college)

Apply to Vanderbilt, Carleton and Middlebury. They are Asian friendly colleges.

Good luck to you!

Well, I just saw Northwestern + your fairly good stats = good schools. So I thought Georgetown and Duke in your reach.

@ 20more,
yeb you are right, sorry, it was a typo
I will look into the three.
Thanks for the suggestions

@ courts, I see. Thanks for the help!

You have really good chances in all of them, I think.

I believe you have a good shot at schools even better than those you listed. good luck!

Thanks for the feedback guys!
@hpyscm,
do you have any specific suggestions for some reach schools that I should aim for? I am a bit new to this and have really no idea which schools to look at.
Thanks a lot! :D

Bumpppppppp!

Maybe look at Rice, Vandy, Duke, and Tufts! You look like you’re on the right track! Good luck with junior year!
